After Sunday meeting players told to find a new club are

Bell
Malaga
Jordan Clarke

Could be more but these told they can leave. I'm surprised with Clarke

is that surplus to or were so good they surpassed the required level. Of that lot probably Malaga is the one I might take a punt on thought he did ok in the few games I saw him play. Bell there is injury issues as well as the cost to keeping him and unlike a lot of cov fans I don't see him as the new Messi, takes a bit more than a few step overs to convince me.

Jordan IMO needs to move on, looks a talented footballer but never a defender lacks the instinct and the determination, makes far too many errors. ~I think he was a potential talent made a debut as a youngster but never convinced me he has the fire in his belly to succeed. IMO needs to leave and see that he is no as good as he thinks he is and that its an honour to play for CCFC not a chore that prevents him spending more time in his flashy range rover. Not personal but I love the club not the players.

Its down to finances. If Bell is on the £7-8k per week as reported and is persistently injured we could get 3 reasonable league1 players for that money. JC won't be on as much as Bell but it will be high for league 1, can't live off potential forever need to deliver at some point, SP may have seen someting in JC that he does not like, big Range Rover, Eng U19 caps, lots of twitter spats, can't get into a team that finished 15th in League 1

Bell aint going nowhere!!

He was best player on the pitch on saturday

That's what I thought. The only gamble is his fitness. I spose this is how stoke felt about Owen. (Not comparing the two player's abilities!)

Not bothered about Clarke. Would like Bell to stay though.

u19 caps are good and demonstrate that others also thought that he had ability also but hasn't delivered and IMO think he is capable of a lot more but too casual and I think that he is not living the lifestyle of a player whose career is going down the pan but of a rising star, needs a reality check again my opinion only. A young huckerby, nuddy, brian borrows so many you can talk about who demonstrated determination to succeed after a few knock backs, can't see that desire in JC - again just a personal view.

The problem with Bell is that for a club struggling financially, it's hard to justify paying a player who must have spent a large percentage of his tenure here out injured.

Again my personal opinion only but I think that there is an attitude problem within the club with certain players who believe that they are too good for League 1 and this attitude inspires our opposition. Can't accuse Dicky wood of such an attitude and the likes of DMG, Leon clarke, Cyrus, Joe M, blair adams, Bailey pre injury & Baker demonstrated by the majority of their performances that they were a top 6 player. Sheffers, Cody, Bell , JC - may come across as big headed

I don't think it's fair to put Bell in that group. He's played quite well and put in no little effort in the few games he's managed this season. The big issue is how many he missed.

So what if Bell has had a couple of 'good' games, the major point is his fitness is horrendous.

Why should we keep paying his wages when we could go and get someone else who might give us more than 10 games a season.

2 more players to add to that list Fleck & Barton, highly promising careers not looking like they will fulfil their potential - will they knuckle down and make a go of it or will they carry on drifting. Fleck has clear ability and desire but physically poor, Barton again clear ability but also comes across as too casual, needs reminding can't get a game in a league 1 side that ended up 15th

the question is, would a fit bell be of use in a promotion push? so is it worth the gamble?

Problem is he's managed only 98 appearances in 4 1/2 seasons and after Wood is one of the highest earners.

I know that, but my question was, if bell was fit for next season, is he a player who would be useful?

Of course he would Mustafa, but there isn't a guarantee that he could stay fit, if we can get him off the wage bill and bring in someone who could potentially and consistently filled that slot then I would be happy with that..

I would give Clarke another year but have him hit the weights and maybe have a chat with him and tell him he needs to work harder and show some more desire.
I might also think about pushing him forward to right midfield to see how that works out, him and Christie down the right wing would give us some pace and both can deliver a decent ball. Although it might not work it has to be worth a gamble?
