Been looking at going to Prague with the missus for 5 nights in October. Has anyone been before?

It'd be good to get suggestions places to see, decent restaurants and some decent places for a few beers that aren't overly rowdy.

Cheers!

I've been to Prague. Unfortunately, that was back in 1968 when I was just 15! Oh yeah, and the bleedin' Russians invaded while we were there so that really f**ked our holiday up. Ah! The happy days of the Iron Curtain!

I got engaged there. Brilliant city, I was there in the middle of July. Loads of places to eat and easy to avoid the stag do crowds. I'll try and find the name of a top quality restaurant we went to, think it was in the Michelin guide.

I was a bit non-plussed to be honest and I’ve been both for a weekend with the missus and with 20 lads on a Stag Do.

Very commercial in the centre but better when you go over King Charles Bridge to the Castle.

Personally prefer Vilnius and Tallinn over Prague.

I was a bit unsure and wanted to go to Tallinn but it's for her birthday and that idea didn't go down well haha. We've done the other major cities in Europe, so it'll be another one to tick off the list.

We're staying in the old town so should be decent enough.

Been twice, 2nd occasion was last year. Avoid Wenceslas Square and drink around the old town square is best advice I can offer or try and find a bar where the Czechs drink. It'll be a lot cheaper and the beer will be of better quality.

Yeah, found a superb bar near where we stayed that brewed its own beer, had a good variety for about £1 a pint. It can't find the bleeding thing on the map now mind, really inconspicuous.

Yeah a lot of the bars are down in cellars and you can’t find them in the day as they are at the back of shops and only open when the shops close.

My one bit of advice that you should really, really listen to though...........go easy on the Absinthe!!

Tallinn is a lot less ‘girly’ than Prague if that is what you are worried about but yeah if you haven’t done Prague it is worth a visit but I just preferred other cities.

I will continue to bang the drum for Lithuania though! Great country and the women are very, VERY easy on the eye!!

The Dancing House by the river there is one of my favourite buildings I've seen. Think it's just dull offices inside mind

We found a bar on the left hand side just over the bridge (Castle side) in a cellar. Food was good, beer was good, prices were excellent.
My one bit of advice... if a young lady comes up to you and asks if you want a blow job... refuse..(if the missus is with you...;))

My missus lived there for 5 years and I've been several times.

I'm away with work in Holland at the moment but I'll drop you a message when I get home with some tips etc.

Definitely would recommend visiting!

We went about 10 years ago and it was a lovely place. You get the usual pickpocket warnings particularly around by the clock. We spent the evening in a bar one night, got talking to a couple from Barcelona all night, it was a very interesting night speaking broken English, Spanish and French! We split the bill at the end of the night about 2am and it come to just over 20 quid! I really liked Prague personally

Loved Prague, stayed on a hill near the Monastery. Lovely up there and only a tram ride down to the City centre. Great place, great buildings, nice food, amazing beers and I like wheat beers so was in heaven. We took a train up to Dresden and had two nights there as well. The train ran all the way alongside the river, very picturesque. Only downside for me with Prague was the amount of homeless/beggars, especially by the train station. Very sad !

Went with lads and was my fav place in Europe. Really nice place. Cobbled streets etc. Nice bars. And had one of best fish and chips ever!
