I thought glenavon were in the northern Irish league. I thought Doyle, long, Keane etc came from a different league

The Irish league always seemed a bit of an untapped market, I think Reading have benefited from a couple of bargains there. Saying that, we poached Deegan from there so it's not a guaranteed goldmine of quality.

It should be fairly obvious that the NI league (that Glenavon play in) is not the same as the League of Ireland (where Gary Deegan previously played for Bohs).

Go on then. I know nothing about any of the Irish leagues and I can't be bothered to google it.

Well my hometown Coleraine are in Europe this season for the first time in years (NI league, not RoI league). I know that much!

If Wrexham are counted as part of the English system, all Irish clubs are the same. FACT.

Edit: FACT. proper emphasis there that makes it beyond doubt

Didn't we also sign Colin Hawkins from the Irish league?

if Moorhouse doesn't work out at least he has his swimming to fall back on.
I wonder if the proposed new swimming pool at the Higgs has interested him and that's why he's on trial

I see they ran an article 4 hours ago on it :D

Did it contain the words "The Telegraph can exclusively reveal" ?

Blimey, there's a name.To think we spurned the chance to have him and Che Bunce marshalling the back

Its was a shame for Hawkins, he was a very good player and it was only injury that stopped him from playing a a real decent level. I think at one point he had the option of going to the vast majority of Championship club's after he had spent a few seasons in the Irish league after getting released by us first time round.
