Racism at the game (1 Viewer)

Didn't even hear about it until this but good to see the club taking swift action

Ironic that someone started a time to stop taking the knee thread yesterday too

I don't get why they (any club) can't come down harder on everything - there's so much CCTV now they can pinpoint anyone surely?

Unless they’ve checked the CCTV and there is obvious monkey gestures or something, one has to wonder how the club or police can say with absolute certainty that the supporter was racist.

Do they just take the word of whoever grassed? What’s stopping me kicking up a fuss and reporting the smelly bloke who sits in front of me for racism and getting him banned?

Glad they dealt with it straight away, don´t need cunts like that in the stadium. Sounds as if someone reported him as well and it is pleasing to see they took the report seriously.

The robust response by English football players has actually made me feel much more positive about the game in the last couple of seasons. As long as racism is a huge problem (which it is, and this applies to many other aspects of society too), I hope they keep doing it.
Good to see that footballers are often great role models these days - unlike the shower of cunts that pollute Parliament/Twitter/Instagram etc

I'd assume there would people sat nearby who'd say something if someone being escorted away was completely innocent or it was mistaken identity. That they've been identifed, arrested and are being investigated suggests there was something to it

What's your take then, they shouldn't do anything because it might be made up? I'd imagine they'd be looking for cctv and corroborating statements from other witnesses. Weird use of the word 'grassed' as well, like he should have just shut up and accepted it.

It means it isn’t time to stop taking the knee. It doesn’t mean that the person who started the thread is a racist. He could be but it could also mean that he was premature in his assumption that racism has ended because that’s the only way taking the knee becomes irrelevant.

It appears to have been a member of the Stoke coaching staff who reported it also, so not as if someone's just sat near a person they're sick of listening to each game

I'd hope many others would also "grass" if they heard racist abuse

I believe Adomah and Dickie did not take the knee on Saturday. Are they both racist?

OP is sad if true
Not doing something doesn't make you racist, the same as not wearing a poppy doesn't mean you're anti soldiers who've served in battle.

Telling people the British Legion fella trying to sell a poppy outside M&S should stop as there's no point to it is less of a good look, however. If you double down and boo him as he sits at his table, that probably doesn't help, too.

I think the 'you' that you're getting in replies is the royal you rather than you personally being accused of anything. That's how it reads to me at least

So it’s okay for 2 players of different ethnicity’s to not support an anti racism gesture in front of 20k people. Does that not make them anti anti racism by the definition provided by the sbt police?

Why is that better than someone on a forum saying they don’t agree with it when clearly 2 players have shown they do not?

But you don't know if they support it or not, or are simply not bothered, or have bad knees which make it difficult to kneel. Whilst you pretty much know the position of someone who actively used words to say they don't support it. Unless of course, that person is saying they don't support it for another reason which isn't to do with the subject at hand, such as they don't like arriving home 10 seconds later than usual because someone took the knee.

I know you’re only trolling and the next ban can’t come soon enough but even your cretinous little brain should know the difference between not reacting to something and reacting negatively to something.

Saw a guy below us in block 24 get escorted out right at the beginning of the game by quite a few stewards, couldn’t understand why? Maybe this was the case???
