Ron and Gordon were the top team when I first started going all the time, home and away. Great memories.

RIP, Ron.

Ron did a good job at City. We were regular away supporters in the 70s and he always showed lots of respect for the travelling fans and went out of his way to speak to us, even when some of the players couldn't be bothered. He was well respected by the players, probably more so than Gordon Milne.

I met Ron a few years ago and although he was already showing signs of dementia we managed to have a fascinating chat about his time at City. A real gentleman who will be sadly missed.

Just on his Wiki page and didn't realise he was an ex Villa player. Had real midlands connections as a player and coach with us, Blues, Villla, Notts Co, Wolves & West Brom!

I think it was Harry Roberts who spoke very highly of him at a recent supporters meeting and I'm sure he said was instrumental in him signing for him on 2 or 3 occasions.

RIP Ron. I'll be very disappointed if his nickname wasn't Coyote though.
