What it is with rugby club owners being total dicks to football clubs?
I did think surely another skip lorry can move them, then again they might get done for theft / trespass
From what I can make out the rugby club sold the ground to the football club and wanted to keep playing there but nothing was formally put in place. After a few years the football club put the rent up, to go towards pitch repairs and floodlight improvements, the rugby club refused and blocked access (that was the last time it happened).
Eventually they came to an agreement which involved the rugby club having to provide training facilities for the football team in return for using the ground. That deal only covered last season. The ground has now been sold and isn't under the same ownership as the football club.
The rugby club say they've been trying to speak to the football club about a ground share but have been ignored, although as the football club don't own the ground that seems a bit pointless. So they've blocked access to the ground again. The owner has basically said they have no legal right to a ground share and he is going to take legal action to preserve access.
More than likely by this time next year a new entrance will be put in which doesn't need access to the rugby clubs land use it.
Just play the game on the Memorial park, any one know what the ground capacity would be ?

Which has come more to light in the last 2 years.
The other big problem as I see it is the stadium wall is the edge of the land and any blades of grass growing against the outside of the wall belongs to the rugby club.
The rugby club has several traing pitches, one is used for small attendance games using rope to cut off the fans from the pitch and larger attendance game are to be held at the stadium.

I’m amazed it doesn’t happen more often the wages they pay the players must outweigh the money coming in, my nephew plays in the same league and gets nearly 30k per year
Yes officially but it has become much nearer to full time, he got a pay rise when he moved from Fleetwood
So in a nutshell the rugby club have no contract for a ground share and no legal entitlement to a groundshare so are acting like dicks to try and force the football club, who don't even own the ground, to give them a groundshare.
The club did have some turnstile facilities on their own land, not sure if still there. Last time they were also just opening the safety gates and taking cash in hand. So it's unlikely to stop the game going ahead.
Regardless, I'm sure the rugger club will be opening their bar to City fans before the match! Not so pissed off that they'll pass up the chance to make some money (hmm, sounds familiar.....)

According to Nuneaton Borough their version of the safety advisory group ha e said it’s a no go without the skips being moved.
Suggestion was move it elsewhere (Bedworth or the Butts at a guess, anywhere else suitable locally?) or play behind closed doors.

Sounds like the other turnstiles have gone then. I know they got some stick for taking cash in hand through the gates last time, guess they've had to rule that out as an option. Wouldn't be a great shame if it were moved, no bar inside for City fans last season and even if we were allowed in the Boro bar it's a mess. Went a few times last season and the few staff they do have don't serve in order: just look for their regulars at then end of the bar, and often some beers would run out before half time.
