Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson is lining up an ambitious move to bring experienced Tottenham striker Robbie Keane to the club.

The Republic of Ireland international is out of favour at White Hart Lane and is expected to move on before the transfer window closes.

Leicester have been busy in the transfer market this summer and are believed to be readying a £3millon bid for the Spurs marksman.

The Swede is eager to add a proven goalscorer to his Foxes squad, but stopped short of confirming the 31-year-old is on club's radar.

"I always said if we can get a striker with a good goalscoring record, we are going to try," explained Eriksson.

"If there is a proven striker who can score 20 goals, then we'll work hard to bring him in."
