Over the last couple of weeks i took it upon myself to delve into the unholy land of the Cov city fans Facebook forum. I can assure you it is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen. i will fill you in on the stories and posts i have seen!
Found one bloke moaning about pre ordering his kit and being told it would not arrive till the 25th. Another Bloke suggested taking 5,000 down to Sunderland regardless of the allocated amount of tickets and as he put it "having a rumble with the Sunderland lot" I was called an idiot when i stated on one post that i was going to be going to St Andrews with my dad and my mate(put your pitchforks away i want to support robins and the team). There is a bloke called Steve who regularly posts "We're Shit Robins out after every club announcement without fail which i pointed out to him that attention seeking is a rather pathetic trait after the age of 6. There is also my good mate Nathan who reckons the Club's Twitter account faked a signing and he also thinks Biamou has never scored for us despite video evidence. Why does the Facebook group have such a wide array of idiots. Does any one else have any interesting encounters.

Funny but sad world really, to think that amongst such gentleman and lovely people that we've all encountered on here as CCFC fans (including every one of the kind people who has donated to the ticket cause), is a gaggle of petulant, insufferable, moronic dimwits who quite proudly display their gonads on their foreheads, their heart on their stone Island sleeve, and any relevant knowledge/facts regarding CCFC leaves them either dumbfounded, or squabbling with fellow simpletons.

Be proud to be a part of the true CCFC fan Base, forget about these clowns who want nothing more than a few beers and a ruckus.

I left the forum around 6 months ago. I dont want to come across as rude but the amount of idiots on there is unbelievable. I found myself getting angry at 90% of what was said on there, mainly 'yea but sisu'.

I love our supporters (see my original post on here) but jesus, the mentality and outright stupidity of some of them makes me want to cry

I'm on the FB forum, rarely post apart from calling the London cuckoo's and CCC c-units!

Recently though I've seen a distinctive change in attitude from most posters, especially regarding the trust and to some extent CCC, as some have seen the light and are critical of both.

Well, if the one bloke was talking about taking 5,000 down to Sunderland, I would suggest it's not going to happen. I would also offer to suggest he needs to vastly improve his geography skills.

Oh and 'Steve Waterer' is just a WUM, sometimes actually funny too!
He gets a lot of bites, akin to shooting fish in a barrel.

It's not unique to that group, Its a similar thing all over the site in various groups. The problem with it is it's very difficult to tell if people commenting are on the wind up (and generally doing a terrible job of it) or are being genuine. So much gets lost in translation with words written on a screen as you have no tone of voice or facial responses to gauge the seriousness of the post. Also peoples willingness to believe something a friend has posted without actually checking out the facts out for themselves has slowly been building for over 10 years now and so much misinformation is swimming around on the site now that the whole thing now has become a toxic cesspool of ignorance.... that said I do enjoy the funny cat videos.

Never been on there and I have zero intention of ever visiting it.

I get frustrated enough with the single minded, one dimensional and ignorant posters on here. And from what I’ve read their nothing compared to Facebook!

That Nathan is a proper special breed. Comments on absolutely everything and constantly looking to argue. He has become the first person I have seen who is actively SISU in, when I imagine 2 months ago he was firmly SISU out.

I've noticed that there is a bloke on there called Justin who appears to have some kind of unofficial leadership over the rabble. Generally what he says, whether it's right or wrong, appears to largely go unchallenged. It's a weird dynamic and I'd like someone smarter than myself to do a case study on it.

I look at the FB page occasionally, and I've noticed that in recent weeks the attitude has changed. It's no longer dominated by the 'Sisu out' crowd, and attitudes to the Council have hardened somewhat. The Trust has also taken a real beating on there in the past few days.

I got off the page a while ago, but I think I know the guy you’re on about. Think he’s the one that’s helping the blind kid to St Andrews that asked for help. I think, anyway!

Yes I also noticed that, credit where it's due.

Some are extremists on there and hate people for attending games, others can be level headed on there. It’s facebook, it’s a throw away comment mentality and let’s face it if you take anything on there to heart then it’s probably not the best place to be on!

Almost as if I have wished it into existence with my thread today the Facebook group has just out done its self. One bloke has taken it upon himself to upload a video of a bloke falling off a crane and subsequently dying and he wished it was Joy Seppala. Strange bunch that Facebook lot

“I’m not going everyone who goes is a c&nt or should die in a car accident etc etc”
90% of the cants dont go to the Ricoh as they don’t want to “Line Sisus pockets etc”

It’s happy days for them in their 20 year old tops that are covered in fag burns and have shrunk 2 sizes. Shaved heads covered in 30 year old tats but a die hard Cov fan because he has a £16 Skyblue Harrington jacket innit mate.
They make me mad.

Is the first bit a quote from the site and 2nd paragraph your thoughts ?. If so, I’m struggling to differentiate

Lycett? Absolute bell. Comments on everything on the official CCFC Facebook page and it’s always utter shite.

I mistakingly joined, just to keep abreast of what is going on, and in the ignorance that there might be some away matches streamed. I dont really use Facebook, its more for tracking the kids.

However the level of stupidity and sheep mentality on there is astounding. Sadly I think it is just a mirror on society. The only reason I havent left is that when the sane ones leave, all thats left is the idiots, and it becomes even worse.

(Probably why I'm still on here, too :). )

Some of the logic is amazing.

In theory, wouldn't they have been sending their money to Ryton for the season tickets previously which is actually outside of Coventry? ;)
