So apparently offside decisions will now be semi-automated, starting at the World Cup. The video from FIFA is....interesting



My main question is - why would anyone want this? Who watches a goal like the one at the start of the clip and decide it needs to be stamped out at all costs?

Seems expensive overfill when there are other problems which could be rectified much easier and at much less expense. Just seems to be an obsession about offside.
