I think it only makes sense that we will see the wingback formation again given the lack of wide options.

Also allows us to reuse the box midfield which was very good end of last season.

Could be interesting to see Haji and Simms as a top 2.

It might work with a bit better now we've got Torp in there and O'Hare back actually.

My worry is that the 433 formation seems to bring the best out of strikers.
Preston hopefully was a one off anyway, but Simms seemed to disappear when we went to two up front in the second half imo, and Wright is definitely more suited to that wide role.

Godden could however be more suited to the 3 at the back...

looked like a knee to knee bump, a bit like Palmer.
He played on till half time and was on the pitch afterwards so hopefully he’s good for Friday

If we do play the box there is less of a need for him to start though compared to a 4/3/3

I’d just play o hare and Palmer behind simms and have wright on the bench to come on after 60/65

Not getting Ephron here in January is a real shame. The change makes sense given the circumstances and we've had success with it in the past

If we're going wingbacks I'd rather go with box, but without an Allen type player to make those selfless runs beyond the striker it's not going to work, so will need to go 2 up top.

------------------Collins (I will be Wilson)

----------thomas -Lati - Kitching
MVE--------Kelly-----Torp----------Bidwell

I really hope the wingback system isn't back, I hate it on principal.

Regardless, playing JDS as a wingback, then Latibeaudiere in midfield is unlikely to get us anywhere anyway.

Kelly should play, and I think if he does, he will step up again.

If we go with a back 3 Lati will be playing there

I’m not against it tbh. We can’t rely on taveres and godden. Let be difficult to beat again and we have the o hare magic we didn’t before earlier this season

All these formations just confuse me, frankly. I want Collins and Bidwell in and wright and Simms both playing.

As we have gone from top of the class for clean sheets to bang average, maybe we need three at the back

Last season Palmer excelled as the main man in the middle, I bit of an ego thing. He was in that role last night against mediocre opposition. I would like to see him there again rather than on the flank. It's time for him to show he is not just a flat track bully.

Yeah, I don’t see why you can’t have something like this or Simms central with palmer/Eccles (if Kelly sits) and wright wider. Only concern is covering back from palmer and wright

We should set up as close as we can to the system that thwarted Leeds at Elland Rd. Grab a point and move on to win our next two matches after that.

Wing back system has a better chance of working with Torp in the side but even with him in there I’d be concerned about it turning into a super stodgy back 7.

...and 1-0 in 1968. Did the double on them. From memory Ernie Hannigan, the world's slowest winger, scored the only goal.

Preston, Swansea, Hull and WBA. Teams we never seem to do well against in recent times. We suffered defeats to WBA at home in the last two seasons due to bad officials decisions, although we may have lost anyway this season. I fully expect a loss and a meltdown on here. Injuries catching up with us. Draw or win and we are back maybe. However, my last predicted loss was Middlesborough away.
