...and sold the Ricoh to another party, say Preston Haskell

Where would that leave SISU/CCFC??

and also if SISU's plan did work to distress ACL and they went into admin, why would they be so confident on being able to buy it over Haskell or A.N.Other

Because the only way the business venture is viable is if the stadium and the club work in harmony. And SISU have control over the club. Who would want to buy a stadium that has no tenants. It's not like a house rental where you can just find another tenant.

My worry as I posted in the other thread is what if ACL finally decide to say bugger off to SISU and the TF White Elephant stadium doesn't happen

SISU will have evaluated this very carefully. There is no hope for ACL without that football club. They would be simply working towards breakeven each year, and that's unattractive and counter-productive.

Yeah but just suppose hypothetically that ACL did tell SISU where to go (and it wasn't to the Ricoh) and ACL could survive without our club, and this new stadium doesn't go ahead, what happens then?

Then demand for ACL's product slowly declines. They will have to reduce rent in line with footfall reduction. They will start sustaining losses, and will have to sell their asset (the stadium) to recoup those losses.

Then SISU sweep in and buy the stadium at a reduced rate.

The only potential issue; SISU putting the stadium on the asset sheet of a different company and charging the club company silly rental fees. It makes little sense for them to do it, but you can't rule it out. If that happens, i'll be with the five derps waving signs outside the FL HQ.

I could definately imagine them trying to sideline non-football related revenues into another business. Ie. Concerts/Casino Rent e.t.c

It doesn't have to be that way - if only fans could unite and write off this SISU run entity for good, then the biggest asset in the long run still resides with ACL, that is a stadium that has potential to be filled with CCFC fans one way or another - unfortunately the fact that the league will clearly side with SISU may prove decisive

Very telling comment as that Is exactly what SISu have achieved.

Why would Haskell buy 1/2 a stadium with the council caling the shots.? He will only buy if he gets majority and the council will not allow that and also whilst the compass contract is in place there is no where to go in this one

You're missing the point we'd be totally homeless which is a really horrific prospect. And if as I said ACL can survive without the need for any revenues from any football related activities, they wouldn't need us. I've always relied on the safety net that ACL haven't kicked us out yet and there is the possibility we could return to the Ricoh, so that we wouldn't be homeless. If that safety net goes, what then?

How many more times before these dingbats clock on?

105m x 68m x 150 = £1,071,000 per additional exhibition event!

With just one additional event the rent from ccfc is covered. HOW MANY MORE TIMES???????

Of course they could be complete morons, leave it as is and hope that tghey can persuade sisu back by giving the asset away for next to nothing.

Alternatively they have realised just how valuable floor space can be invest in a roof, get investors like Barclays, AEG, Nestle etc etc and start earning its keep for the people of coventry (after all when these morons say the council are ripping off the club, who do you think should benefit from any additional revenue for a council owned property!)

This really is an absolute 199% no brainer! These people seem to think that it is impossible to change use of the arena! This simply is not the case!

If this still goes ahead (I suspect they will wait a year or 2 for sisu to come round), but after that, when sisu still play hard-ball, guaranteed one of the first alterations will be a roof, followed by removal of the pitch, followed by alteration to turn it into an out and out exhibition centre.

Remember with the seats gone, there will be even more floor space.

If ever there was a plan of action so blindingly obvious this is it.

Only a true troglidite will believe they will keep the pitch just in case sisu decide to grace them with their presence. The city of coventry owes sisu not one thing. They have destroyed the club if this is allowed to go ahead.

How are you not getting this?
