Possible new managers (3 Viewers)

Surely a question of when rather than if Thorn gets replaced. Nice guy but sadly nice guys don't win matches.

Any ideas who could take over assuming SISU don't act like their usual cheapskate selves and appoint the cheapest available option - Orange Ken anyone?

I'll start the bidding with a controversial suggestion - how about Dennis Wise - showed great passion during his short time at the club, wasn't a disaster as a manager, has dealt with a limited budget at Leeds and would make us competitive and hard to beat. IMHO, the biggest problem we have is that we are a soft touch. Under Wise I think this at least would change.

I think Wise would demand way too much money. I think when he was at that job at Newcastle he was on silly money!

We need somebody to get our team into shape as on paper our starting team tonight was decent....

Only one credible option for me (assuming Thorn does go) would be Sean O'Driscoll. His stock has fallen since bing touted as one of the brightest young managers last year. He fits in with the style of what we have and would be used to working with a shoestring budget. It would be nice if he could come in alongside Thorn in a kind of George and John type team but I think Thorn would see that as failure and many of us would find our ego's struggle with that. Better still it would remove Harrison.

Limited budget???? we haven't got a fucking budget!!! I can't see any decent manager being interested in managing us.

Couldnt afford anyones compensation and i agree that i believe Carsley was kept on as a replacement / successor for Thorn. A cheap in house replacement!

O'driscoll should have got AT's job in the first place imo!

Mark Robins and Sean O'Driscoll both out of work, no compo.

It's not if we can afford a new manager, it's if a manager wants to join us. AT hasn't had any money to spend, and no manager will do a better job

Do you really think O'Driscoll or Robins would be interested in the poisoned chalice that is managing coventry city.

We don't have a budget, let alone a tight budget - no capacity to bring in any players until January, even then they'd have to sell our best players to get worse players in.

Surely worth seeing. With Thorn at the helm we are facing certain relegation. Surely worth rolling the dice before it is too late?

We were favourites for relegation BEFORE the budget was ripped and before other players were sold and some not re-signed. This is because we have NO MONEY. NAda, zilch, nothing, not a bean. The manager is merely a puppet to take the blame when things go wrong.

Well let SISU put is into admin then if we can't afford to change the managerial set up. This slow death by a thousand cuts is destroying our club. Watching Coventry just isn't fun any more. Anything else is cruel to our loyal fans.

SISU won't put us into admin as they will b eth ebiggest loser. They are bleeding us to buy time for a miracle to happen on or off the pitch without any further investment from them. They have nothing to lose by doing so and are not a charity so don't care about what is so personal to most of us here. Sad but true I'm afraid.

the truth is nobody would come here, as they know tha as soon as sisu do finally go whenever that is, the next owners will want their own man . That really does narrow it down to carsley/oggy/gould

By the time that "miracle" takes place we will probably be in League 2 or worse if SISU's under-investment continues. We will eventually find our level where we are clearly too big a club to struggle but it might take visits from the likes of Barnet and Macclesfield until we see that day. Just see it getting worse for SISU. League One matches at the Ricoh would attract crowds of about 8,000 - how are we going to make any money from this?

We're not and I largely agree but they won't care about that
