I hope we get a few goals, but think it will be a tight one.

Despite their lowly position, Oldham have lost only 1 away game in the league all season, so this will be by no means easy. That said, we have to get past these teams if we are really going to be serious promotion contenders.

Oldham have lost their last 3 league games and last 2 away games inc FA Cup.

I am expecting nothing less than a comfortable 3 points.

had a dream that oldham dominated for first 15 mins but then cov scored 2 in 2 mins. maddison and phillips were the scorers....

Gone for 1v1 in the predictor so would be surprised if that was the score!

would like to really bash somebody about six.

i remember once we played oldham in premier league or division 1, early 90s and i was with family in swindon that day and they didnt have a telly with teletext so i couldnt check score. then when i got home i went straight to bed. then next day there was no mention of cov result anywhere on ceefax or oracle.

i think i had to wait a month or so till i got my hands on a programme to find out we drew 1-1. ahh the good ol days lol

Scrappy opener, long range effort from fleck either deflecting in past their keeper or falling to Armstrong who finishes, end up winning 3-1

Seeing as refs have been the talking point of the last week today's Ref is David Webb 19 games this season 63 yellows & 3 reds.
Reffed our home win v Colchester at the end of last season.

Hopefully that's the last of him that's mentioned today.

5-0! Oldham to get taken to the cleaners on the back of the unjust result against Sheff United

It's tough to actually pick a start xi today - I am reverting back to side closest to the one I saw smash Millwall
at the Den with a few changes.

RCC
Lorentzon RB
Stokes LB
Martin CB
Turner CB
Fleck DCM
Vincelot ACM
Lameiras ACM
JOB ACM
Armstrong ST

Subs: Burge, Philllips, Haynes, Cole, Murphy, Kent, Tudgay.

We have lots of attacking options.....realise benching Murphy may raise eyebrows! We should
have more than enough to win this one though.

Hoping for a positive so I can crack open a late beer here in the Maldives! 3-1 City, Arma x 2 and Lameiras. 16,432 att.

You'd only play 10 men? Lorentzson's injured!

Oh and Maddison to start! :facepalm:not starting with ten men!

Doh! :D

That's what I would go with too, but Aaron Phillips right back in Lorentzson's absence.

If this ref does us over today, I'll find him with my skill-set and Neeson him good and proper.

I'm hoping for a smash-fest, but I feel in my bones it'll be tight. 1-0 or 2-1. Any sort of win will do.

Yeah I think it will be tight today also

Yeah it will be tight, Mowbray and Stokes did allude to the fact teams have started to work us out somewhat. I expect Oldham to sit back, pack the midfield and let us keep the ball but try not to allow us to exploit space in behind.

That's why an early goal (for us!) is so vital. Oldham's game plan will then immediately go out the window.

Either way, it'll still be tight. Even if we get one early doors, they'll stifle the midfield and take the threat out of the flanks. Well, if I were David Dunn, that's what I'd instruct my team to do.

Hopefully his inexperience will get the better of him.

I would back our forwards to make enough space today to get in on the Oldham goal. I think the secret today will be quick ball to feet rather than trying to take on a packed midfield and defence. If Kent plays he should beat a player and release rather than take on the whole back line
