Turgid and slow.Devoid of pace which is our strength. Bigi trying to play the same old ball through time and time again trying to thread a needle. Sorely missed something a little different as we were very predictable.Cole was nowhere today barring a set piece,we need to play to our strengths, sincerely hope we get a grip as teams will set up like Oldham every week.

As soon as we started to pass it out slowly you could physically see their defence instantly move up 10 yards.
Bigi was too far back and all our play either went down the left or through the middle.
Cole was missing for most the match and Fortune only did something once they had scored.
Yet another big crowd and a poor performance for them to take home.

Not much movement of ball today. Pass and move has become pass and watch the other play pass it backwards

I'm sure mowbray will watch dvds and sort it out tho

Personally, I don't think Armstrong makes nearly enough runs when we are coming forward, especially when teams are trying to put load behind the ball. If he made a few more runs then he a, give us something to pass to and b, open up a bit of space by taking players away.
I'd like to see us play with Fortune up front and a couple of players just behind him to take the ball from his hold up play. It might give other teams a bit more to contend with if they're playing for a draw.

Bigi was playing almost cb on occasions. Cole was a waste of time. We need to go back to maders and lameiras or murphy with job, vinl and fleck. These loans and esecialy tm obsession with cole has got us no where. He seems to change the team to acomadate cole which hasnt worked

I agree with the first part, Armstrong does seem to prefer to drop deep 9/10.

Don't agree with fortune up top as a preference though, it's alright away from home but the last couple of times he's started at home he's slowed down play, doesn't particularly get in the box so you're then reliant on the 3 midfield players to make runs in behind him and provide the goal threat. Would rather play Tudguy.

Now Maddison's back I'd like to see us go back to Armstrong, Maddison, Lamieres and JOB, their interplay and interchanging in those first 3 games was superb.

Too often when he's done his bit by holding the ball up nobody has been in support or took the ball on the run off him. That's made him look like he's slowed the game down. If we played to his strength and got people running through to take the ball off him then it would look a lot better.
