And with Ricketts at centre back, we miss a right back!Yeah, stokes did a decent job, Ricketts will come back in but we're back to missing a dominating centre back.

Yep cover is a worry I would hope if we suffer anymore injuries they go to attacking midfielders/strikers tbh where we have
far more options. Haynes and Phillips are weaker but we are a league one side so could live with them coming in for odd game subs cover here or there.......we could certainly do with another defender coming in January though!!

I've now come to the conclusion that neither Phillips or Haynes are good enough for what we require, if we want to be challenging at the top of the table.

The Telegraph article (http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...news/coventry-city-cardiff-city-left-10626902) says that it’s Turner’s left ankle which has been injured. It sounds potentially serious, but one small consolation is that it’s not a breakdown of the right ankle he had reconstructed.
My immediate concern here is for the player, rather than CCFC. But TM will need to find another dominant defender from somewhere because for much of yesterday’s game three of our back four were inexperienced full backs.

Always the way, isn't it, he tries to strengthen the bad ankle but the good ankle gives way. Problematic for big centre-halves, ankles and knees.
A lad I knew at school was with Reading for a while, big strapping lad called Gary Shaw (about 6'5''), but at 20 he had to retire because he had constant ankle problems. He bust one badly, then the other one would give way because he'd jump for a header or land favouring the good ankle and thereby weakening it.
I hope this isn't a retirement problem for Ben.

A massive worry for us if we haven't got a dominant centre back, I am convinced we drew yesterday because they put that big lump on and thats what cost us the goal, Ricketts is good very good in fact but not a dominating centre back, we started shipping a few goals when Reda got injured... get rid of Cole and get a loan or maybe buy someone if we have the anti

I've been banging on about this lad for a year now, I feel he's ready. TM is hesitant, understandably so, but Harries is a cut above any youth player. A solid, intelligent, ball-playing centre-half.

Well we don't know how serious it is yet, I have gone over on my ankle several times when I was younger playing sport, and in great pain at the time, but able to walk without pain within a few days and continue playing within 2 - 3 weeks. It's unlikely he was able to walk off yesterday if he had done anything serious. Just a thought.

Certain TM has a contingency plan for when/if Ben Turner went back With the greatest of respect to Ben from our point of view it is better this to have happened now rather than later will probably make TMs mind up which way to go.
Remember Mcallister rolling his years ago /possibly strained ligaments also, then played about three days later. Amazed!!
Have done this myself a few times and it is very painful, prone to reoccur afterwards as well.
