Minority sports, women, disabled sports, people I've never heard of - BBC trying to be inclusive of everything and diluting what used to be a great nights TV. Nothing wrong with those sports and particular disabled is amazing of them from adversity, but this should be about the best of the best and imo spoty should really come from someone who excelled in mens football cricket rugby golf tennis athletics and the programme inky about them.

We have other awards nights for inspirational people and blowing smoke up everyone's arsehole.

I know I'm a bit of a dinosaur but am I the only one who thinks this?

Haven't watched it for years, just switched it on and about to switch it off. The two hosts are total arseholes. Also what does it mean sports personality? I imagine that Beckham has won this at some point. Switched it off now gone back to NFL and going to wash up

Eddie Izzard looked more comfortable in make up and heels than most of the England women's footy team. Nice to see a former Coventry City player winning an award.

Think they'll be changing it to Sports Person Of the Year as good a sportsman as Murray is he comes over a bit boring. But he won it for the Davis Cup win I reckon, but that's a team game not individual,so it should have gone to Jessica Ennis or Froome in my opinion.

Should you not be allowed win it for individual brilliance in a team environment then? Was Wilkinson an unworthy winner when he won it in 2003 for his performances at the Rugby world cup or Flintoff for his Ashes performance?

They hand out an award for team performances don't they ? I also thought it was given solely on individual performances ? But now you mention those two and not forgetting Botham's Ashes heroics you have a point. I'll get my coat !
