If this is our bad patch we are doing OK, only one loss so far. Win at home, draw away is promotion form.

We need to get to Feb. Then we know who we have for the rest of the season, speculation about Kent, Cole, Madders, Fleck, Arma can't be stabilising for the club. If we can stay in touch with the top 2 until then we can kick on.

Need to turn some of these draws into wins but if this is our bad patch I'll take it!

I see no reason why to keep Cole at the club. I would bring Armstrong and Kent back for the rest of the season, have another striker, CB and GK and we should finish top 6 minimum.

No that is wrong, our fan was goading him and then the Chesterfield keeper body slammed our fan into the ground

Keeper lucky to not get sent off for that. I think it was Christie a couple of seasons ago who got booked for tripping a fan up when the fan came on to the pitch.

Ref picked up on it and immediately reported the scuffle to people on the touch line, either his 4th official ready for his report, or chief steward I suspect.

Keeper was very lucky. Silly rule though IMO as if the fan is crave enough to try and goad a footballer he should be able to react to the provocation without chances of getting booked. Although he should have been carded for his constant time wasting too!

After the final whistle 3 coppers went to speak to the keeper but he was on his way up to the centre circle. Copper whistled him 3 or 4 times to get his attention but didn't hear or didn't want to hear. I hope that they 'remind him of his responsibilities' because if the kid had done that to him instead of just goading him then I'm fairly sure he'd have been given a prison sentence.

This is a game we should have won....however the way it went we have to accept it was a point won on the day.

It is a long season folks and promotion and play offs are a long way away. We are still in the mix and that is good enough.

Massive January coming up.

Crewe, Walsall, Burton, Southend.

Need 3 wins there.

Need to win all 4 cant keep drawing games we should really win.
Today should have been a 3 pointer against a team that has lost 6 on the bounce.

Obviously not the best result but I think we need a few more glass half full fans. At the start of the season people were talking about a relegation battle, now we're moaning that it might 'only' be the play offs.

For me its always been the aim to stay in touch until the January window and hopefully then kick on. If anything our dip in form might be to our advantage if TM goes to ask for a few more quid as crowds are up.

With the lack of CBs and games in quick succession I'm relatively OK with how we've gone over Xmas. We now need to get a replacement for Reda / Turner and make sure we hang on to our loans (or get suitable replacements). Things can change quickly, got some big top of the table games coming up, win those and things will be looking great.

Ref was shit again and the Lino got it wrong 2/3 times the obvious one being Arma in an offside position walking the other way, but Murphy ran from the half at line to the ball and the lino flagged. ...
their free kick was given when heir fans screamed hand ball for a 50/50 ball stuck between 2 players. Twat.
madda brought down twice and no booking for their player. Glad he scored from free kick put it straight.what happened with Mogga sent to stand.?
telling ref at least play fair?.
young lad on pitch mouthy and pointing at goalie. He then put him on the floor with a judo move straight on his. Back. Wrong
lad was arrested for section 5 and invading the pitch.goalie should be charged with assault.mugged by the officials again in my view

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Had a good laugh today, thats the only thing positive about the day. So frustating, too many beers to put a sensible view on the game so bullet points will have to do.

- MAF, still waiting for him to have an influence on the game.
- Chanting to bring Armstrong on. (Next game we will be chanting "Attack, attack, attack")
- When Armstrong comes on, in desperation continue to play high balls up to him.
- The officials. Bold headed c*nt on the left side was especially poor.
- Teams are suffocating us, unable to play out from the back.

Agree. We are doing brilliantly so far this season but for large parts of recent games we have done no better than our worst performances in recent years.

Take that. Away point

Let's try to build a new unbeaton run now

Not Definitely manager getting it wrong. Maybe arma and Murphy wouldn't have had success vs a fresh defence

It's not about being unbeaten it's about winning. We played a team who lose their last 6 games. We played Oldham who are dire. 4 points dropped in those 2 games. Could be very influential come end of season. December was supposed to be an easy month and turned out poor

Not quite fair on Oldham. They have lost just ONE away league match all season.

I think there are far too many way, way OTT deductions and conclusions on here.

Armstrong needed a rest. When would have posters rested him if not today?

We had 2 games in 3 days, changes had to be made.

Look at our back four today. Surely the weakest back four we have put out this season. Phillips and Haynes as full backs and Stokes at centre half.

The only debate that I can see personally is whether Tudgay should have played instead of Fortune and that's it.

We are not on a good run of form for sure, but still have only lost one game in 15 and 4 all season and we are still 4th with teams above us to play at home here at the Ricoh, with the fantastic home form we have. Who's going to be the most worried, us or Walsall and Burton?

I think people need to look at the big picture. TM will address the defender situation and Maddison is now making things happen. Fleck is back and hopefully Lorentzson will be challenging for the right back spot soon.

Don't get all the gloom and doom. We are still in with a great chance of promotion. January is going to be key however. Let's trust TM to do the wheeling and dealing to strengthen the squad for the last half of the season push.

And just to conclude, this 'bad' run has left us just 4 points off top place.

I think some need a great big dose of reality. 4 points of top place is still a great place to be and as I say, we now have the January window to try and strengthen the squad further. Still all looking very rosy in the Sky Blue garden.

As I said on the other thread. I've loved this season but I don't want it to fade out. I want us to kick on and do the same 2nd half of the season. A month ago we were top and looked at the fixtures and I personally expected to be there come the new year. We've played poor teams and haven't took enough points in my eyes. The attacking exciting football we witnessed first 18 games has disappeared in recent weeks. Hope that's not a sign of things to come ahead

Last two posts Otis bang on. Sheff Utd was very unfortunate. Oldham we should have closed out but as you say a hard to beat side. Today was a tough away game with a new Manager coming in. It is a long season and we are about half way. We are ahead of schedule I would say compared to when Mowbray arrived.

Season as a whole great and if this is our blip it isn't a bad one. If we get back to winning ways soon it will be forgotten, But the last 6 results as a future habit will not get us promoted and it doesn't make you a negative fan to point that out IMO

Indeed we are and Sheff Utd should have been at least a point and probably all 3 for us.

You just can't win with fans though. Many posters calling for Armstrong to be dropped as he 'hasn't done anything of late,' 'is off form,' 'is tired.'

As soon as we are losing in the game and not creating enough it's 'why didn't TM play Armstrong?' ;)

If this is our bad run I will take this every day of the week.

We as fans have no idea as to how tired Armstrong is, or if Murphy is carrying a slight injury etc. etc. I don't know why Mowbray is playing Fortune ahead of Tudgay, but I trust the bloke and he must have his reasons.

Changes HAD to be made today. We had no choice. 2 games in 3 days and you have to believe TM thought Armstrong needed a rest and Murphy wouldn't be able to manage two starts in such a short space of time.

If Armstrong now comes bounding back, banging in the goals after a bit of a rest, then that would be a fantastic boost for the side. He's only 18 and to expect him to suddenly play every game in a long hard season, is not very rational.

My one concern I have from today is to how badly Martin is injured. We would have expected 3 points today, but with a completely make shift back four and a goal down, in the end it was a point earned and so now it is on to Crewe, where once again we should fancy our chances.

Perhaps not.
Crewe are a bit of a Bogey side who we always find it tough against.
I will be there though.

We SHOULD fancy our chances through Wingy. Forget the past, we now have a good manager and we are 4th in the table and out of 24 matches we have lost just 4 times.

I fancy our chances against anyone at the moment.

Hmm Otis largely agree but think there was an additional point - I think many including myself wanted Armstrong rested
but you need to replace that speed with speed and end product. In my case this was playing Murphy up top down the
middle with Maddison, JOB & Lameiras in behind. Also if he did need to rest one of the players listed should have been
Lameiras with Murphy in 3 and from what I can see almost everyone unanimously wanted Tudguy over MAF if Armstrong
was rested.........I think TM is being a little too stubborn over Tudguy which makes me wonder if they've fallen out?
If I was Tudguy I would be seeking explanations.....He got it wrong playing Kent too - send him back imo flatters to
deceive and it unsettles team trying to fit him in!

However all that being said if we replicate first half of season we'll probably come in round 4th where we are at the moment
so will have excitement of play offs.......however if you are like me you think this is the weakest league 1 we have been involved in to date and with our squad we should be pushing for automatic promotion really......even more so given currently being occupied by
Burton and Walsall two smaller clubs with smaller squads and playing budgets...

I'm not sure we are ready this season.
If we are not ready this season, we certainly won't be next season because next season we won't have Armstrong, Murphy, Kent or Maddison.
