I hope this is a step in the right direction but on the current level of affordability for us. Get out there and scout emerging cheaper talent. With a view of letting them develop their careers at CCFC.
Hope that is the new(old) plan

Am all that for a plan. Far better than the look back to players who've been here before, or used to be good.

Admittedly it relies on us getting the right players...(!) and there's no guarantee you won't get the next Gary Deegan; but it's the only way forward, really, if we're going to end up halfway sustainable long term.

Bloody hell it just appeared under the Cole Biggi story for me 

Thought brilliant this is what we need to do like in the days when we got Westwood Gunnerson Fox and Dan. However base it on our current level with kids like this.

Like Stokes and Vincelot then? :)

Kind of with him but I was more thinking players who have excelled at a lower level and you are prepared to invest a little like with Dann and Fox or in our case Vincelot and you are prepared to invest a Little to get them.

Forgot about him.

Also Andy Rose...

Not really thinking like this more the players at a lower level who are clearly performing better than that level. I suppose in a way Rose may actually fit the Bill if you think of the MLS as a lower level.

Wouldn't put Vincelot in that category tbh. He's a player who's had a track record at this level, who's been brought in to do a specific job but... given his age, he's never likely to attract the attention of teams bigger than us, so he's not here for the sell-on or top flight standard.

He is what he is.

Yes some you will sell on for profit others will just be guaranteed to do the job as they have excelled from a lower place (relegated team).

It is the way to go...but remember these types of players are other clubs Maddison's and Wilson's...it works both ways...but that is football.

The combined fees of Westwood, Dann and Fox were circa £2 million. We sold them for less.

We lost money on them.

We didn't stick to the plan

If you are correct......

Blues' supporters have voiced their conerns on our Coventry City forum after the club accepted £3.5m bids from the Blues and Wolves for the club captain yesterday.

Dann has agreed to join Birmingham today.

There is a document LS showed on here that showed we made less than half a million on Dann and Fox

Ilkeston are a team we should be looking at for young players

Rai Simmons - recently signed for Chesterfield

Rhys Dolan - recently signed for Barnsley

Kieran Wallace/Che Adams - recently signed for Sheffield United

Lewis Walker - son of Des, recently had a trial at Chelsea

Jordan Wheatley - Spurs and Leicester watching him

We made £225k profit on fox, he was part of the leaked documents. Bought for £400k sold for £700k, Walsall got 25% above what we paid for him, so we made £225k.

Not to sure what you are saying then?
Stu says we made £250k on Fox
Dann is reported to have gone for .2.5 million.?

Even with sell on clauses how did we lose money?

I included Westwood who lost us £750,000

Just to highlight, the fox sale was reported in the papers as £1.5m so you can't believe what they report in the papers.
