Hi all, Saints fan in peace.

I run a regular feature on my site called A Saint Amongst Them, where I look at ex-Saints playing for the next opposition.

Thought some of you might be interested:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-dr

Anyway, obviously hope we win tomorrow, but you guys go on to turn your season around. I still have Cov as a Premier League club like us in my mind!

I agree, I grew up with us both in the top flight and half of today's top flight were lower league. I wonder if the likes of Shrewsbury and Torquay will be looking down on us in 15 years time. I hope the Saints go up, can't stand the teams around you!! Lol

gwc, answer me one thing.........why didnt you allow SISU to take over? If you did we may not have gotten into the mess we're in :) admittidly without them we most likely would have gone into admin, but i think if we got the chance between the two again, i no wot id do!

Good luck for the season though. Your club seems to be one of the few that are being run correctly and deserve to be doin well (with the exception of tomorrow of course :) )

Jim Steele, ex Saints player and I believe part of the Saints Cup Final team, now runs the Black Bear pub where I live - Moreton in Marsh.

PS -- I have a soft spot for Saints as well --- Admin, relegated to Div One and their history is not too different to Sky Blues in a lot of respects.

gwc..As i'm sure you are aware of we have inherited an ex-chairman of yours one Ken Deliu. What was your opinion of him whist at your club and how long was he chairman for ? and how was he got rid of did he leave or was he booted out ? I know you had big problems at the time with that Rupert Lowe character. Was he connected to Deliu or not ?

We dodged a bullet with SISU. I remember when Ranson and his cronies turned up, I couldn't understand why we didn't take their offer, as it seemed to be the only one on the table. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Alright dude!

Hmmmmm.....

My mum taught me that if I had nothing good to say about somebody to say nothing at all.

He was the public face of the worst run era at our club. To be fair to him he took on a thankless task and clearly wasn't up to it. Unfortunately he is a pal of Rupert Lowe's (which says it all). He was ousted by Leon Crouch, the only man to come out of our financial farce with any credit.

We know how it feels to be where are you now. Don't give up hope. In hindsight, administration and relegation to League One might just have been the best thing that ever happened to us!

GWC,

I think I am not alone in saying that Southampton are a club that are both admired at present for the way the club is run, and for how you play football, by many Coventry fans. A similar sized club that are showing us how it should and must be done.

Personally you are and always have been one of the only other league clubs that I like, and I hope you do well this season, obviously apart from against us.

Its amazing to think we were overjoyed when SISU took over us, and not yourselves, but its rather ironic how things turned out. You thankfully lost Ken Doolally soon after, unfortunately suffered relegation and administration but now have come back from that stronger and better, whilst we are sinking faster than the titanic.

Good luck to you for the rest of the season, you are my tip for Champions and I hope you are, and we stay up. I think you are more likely to succeed!

Could Rupert Lowe be one of our faceless investors with their less than 10% share so are able to remain nameless and was Ray Ranson and Lowe in tandem then ?
I remember Lowe always being on the TV a thoroughly horrible little twot and although portrayed as a Saints fan appeared willing to see the club disappear into oblivion

How did you get rid of him and his cronies ?

He could be I suppose. Scary thought.

He is no Saints fan. He openly admitted that he had never been to a game until he took over at Saints. He is a hockey fan/player.

I am not sure we did get rid of him to be honest. They got rid of themselves by running the club into the ground. Protesting might make fans feel better (we did the same) but I don't believe it makes any real difference. How much effect does walking from the pub you were going to anyway to the game you were going to anyway actually have?

The only really effective form of protest is non-attendance, but then you punish yourself and the most important thing. The club.

Hang on in there guys. You are a big enough club to ride this out, take the fall and come back stronger.

You gave us a real scare on Saturday. For a while it looked like you would go on to win the game, you came out firing on all cylinders after the break. I would stick with Thorn if I was you.

Good luck for the rest of the season, and don't feel too much hatred for us if we come and sniff round our lad Lukas in January! ;)
