Mowbray on Rose:

The Australian, who was last playing for Seattle has signed a deal until June 30th 2017 and speaking about him to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: "He’s another one who has got to learn how we play so I think with Andy we’re going to have to get him on the grass and playing with the Under-21s to get him up to speed.

“Is he going to get in front of Fleck and Vincelot straight away? No. Depending on what happens with Gael Bigirimana there’s more competition for him but I painted a picture for him and he knew what the situation was when he signed.

“He has to come here and get himself in the team and he has got the attributes that give him a good chance of doing that. Let’s wait and see how much he fights and is desperate to play.

That’s the secret to football when you can bring players in and they can learn rather than have to go straight in,” said Mowbray.

“He will learn how I want him to play the position.
“He came in a few weeks ago and it was a case of ‘wow’ because he was running everywhere, like a marathon runner and that’s a fantastic attribute to have and yet my central midfielders don’t run everywhere.

“They stay pretty central and they keep the ball moving around the pitch for the forward players to go and create havoc, for our full-backs to attack, wide players to come inside and centre-forwards to run in behind and they give us a platform to play from.

“I said to him at the time that if that’s how he is and he’s not going to change then he’s no good for me. But if we can harness those qualities, the athleticism, size and those legs and ability to pass it then he’s got every chance. And he was happy to come and have a go at that, so let’s see how the next few months go.”

Seems that Ramage is pretty good mates with Armstrong, someone on here said that Murphy said that he has been homesick lately, so someone from his area around might help him.

Not a colossus like them. Just a Mr Solid. I would guess he won't be first choice. Just an experienced head and an organiser. Will suit our team as we tend to dominate games.

Strange signing this one for me. From what Mowbray says he 'currently' doesn't fit in. Which goes against everything he says about only bringing in players that will fit in and improve the squad.

He said the same about Bigi "hell have to learn how we play".

I guess also there's two types of fitting in: personality and Football wise. Could be he's got the right mentality and gets on with the squad and TM thinks he can work on the playing style.

So assuming TM gets all his targets met, how many will that make in and around the First Team squad?

Well we don't know really do we, I mean it's valid to wonder.
I absolutely trust him but have had concerns over Coles effect, that seems to be coming along now.

so you were proven wrong. maybe stop making assumptions?

so much second guessing the manager. crazy

Be a good time to extend TM's deal now, maybe keep it rolling with what he's got now + 1yr rolling added.

Had a chat with a Bradford fan, he said Reece Burke was quality and told me to "F Off"
So that's promising if the rumours are true.

Great to see Cole has signed!

If we sign Armstrong until the rest of the season and obtain another striker similar then I really do feel we will be pushing for automatic promotion.

Exciting times between now and May!

I think Reece Burke will be the next loan in, TM is trying to smoke screen with the comments like" we looked at him, but we also looked at 3 others CB today". He is touted to be a future Premiership star, his age would fit into this squad very nicely.

Cheltenham Town have today completed the loan signing of Coventry City defender Cian Harries on an initial one month loan deal.

Left sided centre-back Cian Harries, 18, captained the Wales U-18 team last season as well as playing regularly for the U-21 side. He also traveled with the senior squad to some of the fixtures towards the end of their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Coventry Manager Tony Mowbray described him as, " A young players with phenomenal talent" when he signed him to a three-year professional contract in the summer.

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson has been looking to boost his defensive options in the January window and is delighted to have got his man. Look out later today for our exclusive interviews with Gary on his new signing.

Our exclusive interview with Cian will also be published later today.
