Just thinking, with talk of bringing in a couple more wingers, and Rose coming in etc. Where does that leave JOB and Lameiras? I really wanted to see them both in the team, and there's definitely going to be a lot more competition for places now.

I agree...JOB and Lameiras should be regular starters in my opinion.

lol noone cares who your favourite players are. TM knows more about football than you do, and competition for places is a good thing.

Mowbray said the other day it is his job to constantly look for better players which he is doing good managers don't stand still, from what I have heard this Andy Rose could soon be established in the team, if he does who in place of Fleck ? Vincelot ? and then there's Bigi too, then Joe Cole ! Who would be a manager !

Steve McClaren also confirmed that Adam Armstrong was staying at Coventry City and said: "We're keeping him there" #nufc #PUSB

He might do, but he's also come under some criticisms for team selection on games we in theory should have won.

I would like to see a front four of:

JOB - Maddison - Lameiras

Armstrong

Not because they are my favourite players, but because I think it contributes to one of our strongest teams. Earlier in the season this modest quartet were ripping teams apart in a way that we hadn't seen until Crewe last week.

With these new additions we haven't seen yet, it'll be interesting to see what he does.

how many mid-fielders do we need? In TM we trust, but would like another striker, defender and goalkeeper, in that order.

why are we signing all these midfield players when we haven't got enough room in the squad for the others ie Job lamires

JOB is still integral to the team, he won't be surplus, and he does have plenty of end product and can keep the ball.

Don't get where this myth that JOB is all work rate and no technical ability has come from.

Great signing and experience in Stephen Hunt.

The 34-year old has been training with the squad at Ryton for over a week and has earned a short-term deal...
Coventry City have signed Irish midfielder Stephen Hunt on a short-term contract.

The Sky Blues have snapped up the former Republic of Ireland international after training with Tony Mowbray’s side for over a week.

Walsall_Clickthrough

The 34-year old started his career at Crystal Palace in 1998 before moving to Brentford and then Reading in 2005.

Hunt played for the Royals in the Premier League before moving to Hull City in 2009 and then Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hunt’s last club was Ipswich Town where he made 38 appearances in a two-year spell at Portman Road before leaving in the summer.

City manager Tony Mowbray said: “Stephen has been training with the squad for over a week now and we’ve offered him a short-term contract to continue that opportunity to challenge for a place in our first-team.

“He has fantastic pedigree, both in the Premier League and at international level, and will give us another valuable option going forward.

“I’m sure he’ll be a positive influence in the dressing room and could maybe help some of our players with his experience.”

No player is irreplaceable. It may bring out the best in JOB. That's clearly the idea. TM is a shrewd judge of character. He knows JOB has quality but I get the impression he thinks he lacks focus at times.
Get all the players desperate to play.

That probably explains why you are not a football manager, if TM sees a player better than one he had and can get him he should get, you sound a bit too sentimental to me

No it's not sentimental, you just rubbish him at every opportunity. You said Bigi coming on loan was the end of him, and yet he still plays. He's had / is having a good season not sure why you're knocking him.

Hunt has been without a club since the summer, it's going to take him 2 months to get fit, like Cole he won't be able to play sat-tues-sat so I guess they will get rotated in the squad. He turns 35 in the summer, he won't be here next season, but been brought in to add options and add experience. You're the one who said 1+1= 3. We've lost Kent and replaced him with hunt and Job played plenty when Kent was here. The player who is likely to miss out is Lamieres.

I agree Mowbray should bring in better players if he can. You just always pick on job when we do.

Don't agree I pick on JOB prove it, l rarely diss any player while they are here but the facts speak for themselves he is either sub or substituted. If he plays and plays regularly no one will be more pleased than me. It looks to me TM is slowly bringing in players of a higher calibre and it was needed.
