Not been questioned on here but the attendance last night meant that the ground was apparently less than half full. Didn't look like 16500 empty seats to me.
Tax avoidance-VAT etcThis has happened a couple of times. You've got 4,600 empty in the away end and then the blocks that aren't open. Then lets say the Telegraph stand only had as many blocks open as the away end (does that sound right?). That's 9,200 empty seats which means in the main stand and the Tesco stand there's over 7K empty seats.
Doesn't look like more than a handfull in the Tesco stand. How many does the main stand hold? That would need to be half empty wouldn't it?
Saying that not sure why they would want to downplay the figures.
It goes on in every business-and has done for years. At the Crewe home game I paid for 5 on the gate but didn't get issued any tickets. You can't really lie about attendances, that kind of fraud wouldn't go unnoticed very long.
No surprise really, with the little bit of success we're having at the moment... get into the top 10 of the championship , I don't doubt , 25000 gates would be a regular sight for several seasons, anyway .117% increase from the Swindon game on the same date last year
