Moaning about the little things in life (3 Viewers)

Just wondering, are you a moaner and complainer about the small things in life, or is it only the big things that annoy you and you feel the need to complain about?

Just watched News Watch on BBC this morning and some lady was on moaning about the fact that 17 mins of the 6 and 10 O'clock news bulletins were devoted to the death of David Bowie on Monday. I watched it shaking my head in dismay at the pointlessness of it all.

One, it must have obviously irked her and then two, she must have taken time out to contact the Beeb to complain about it and then three, she has taken the time out to further still to go into the BBC television studios to appear in person to complain even more.

Isn't life too short to moan about this kind of stuff? That's the way I feel. Try not to moan about the little stuff and concentrate in the things that really matter and just keep reminding myself have painfully short life can be.

Now I'm sure there is some irony in the fact I am on here complaining about people complaining about little things, when in the grand scheme of things this is a little thing itself, but I was just thinking about the lengths this lady went to, to complain.

I think the last time I remember complaining about something small was at the Godiva festival and that was because we had parked there and on trying to get out there were 5 rows of cars trying to get out at the same time and while other rows were moving our row was not moving at all. Think I budged 2 feet in 45 mins, while other cars in other rows were flowing slowly, but nicely and out of the park.

I got out of my car and complained to a steward, but to be quite honest, that is the only time I can ever remember complaining about anything reasonably trivial.

I never complain in shops or to bus companies etc.

So, what about everyone else? What sort of things of less importance have you complained about? Ever written to the newspaper or complained in a shop etc.? Or do any of your family or friends have a history of being a complainer and moaner?

Don't think my mum and dad complain about anything at all, ever! They are so meek and mild and that maybe where I get it from, but I also think life is just too short to be constantly arguing and moaning and complaining about things that are not really that important, or only need to be argued about to a tiny degree and not within say 200 pages on a football forum. ,

Think you only have to look here on SBT to see some people seemingly appear to really enjoying arguing and moaning about stuff.

My wife is a moaner. Very interesting to note that I get on at my daughter about school work and right and wrong and her health and with my missus it is about putting her slippers on and keeping her bedroom tidy.

As you say, life's too short. That's why I back out of all the ACL/WASPS/Council threads very early on.

Can't believe that biggest club in Coventry thread is still bleeding going!

My wife says I moan about everything but mainly to her. I never send food back in a restaurant as God knows what they do with it, once had really bad service in sticky fingers restaurant and they included a large service charge about £150 and I refused to pay it and they said we don't know how to knock it off the bill so I just said I won't pay any of the bill then guess what they soon worked it out. I like a little moan on here/rant on here normally against italia and the wasps lovers

Yep. My Nan had a stroke last week and has had type 1 diabetes for 40 years. 1 week in hospital and her leg is dead and they are giving her a week.

Also had to ring an ambulance whilst my Mrs put an elderly lady having a stroke in the recovery position yesterday in the Ricoh m&s. Shit few days but we can go top today. It is cold though.

Yep, I get a bit annoyed when City lose, but more so melancholic. Doesn't last very long though, cos my daughter always cheers me up.

I do think Italia is right on a few things, one being that we need to accept the situation we are in and work with Wasps.

Would love to see a concerted organised campaign as to how we can get them out, but until then, it is what it is and we have to work within the parameters we've got.

He does make sense at times, but then so does just about everyone on here.

Italia is right about some bits and so is grendy but they can't agree and are a bit of an old married couple.

they are not going anywhere for a while but I try to give them as little money as possible and I have got my older boy to say that is our ground when we go past

i am just sitting here with the kids one watching tv, one and my little girl watching her I pad and scribbling (she thinks it's drawing on a pad) with a big smile on her face so life could be worse!

Indeed, sometimes you wanna open up a bit, but then it's the old male pride and stiff upper lip kicking in that prevents it. Plus, there's that niggle that people on a forum will see you as an attention seeker if you post family stuff...

There's plenty I don't say, particularly about family etc, but things are not kosher at the mo'. I find coming on here, having a banter and a whinge, is somewhat therapeutic to real-life issues.

All the best to your nan, mate, my own nan had several mini-strokes and heart attacks in her last years, the stubborn old bugger just refused to give up the fags, see.

Hope she pulls through without any major problems.

One crumb on the floor in our house and it's a moan. Went round my friend Sarah's house and there was her teenage son eating beans on toast, sat on the sofa and when he spilled beans on the sofa she just laughed and said 'Oh there go the beans.'

Can't I'm afraid! Have to write to the BBC about the weather girl on Tuesday whose dress sleeve had a small crease in it.

Aye, it's about trying your best to manage the stress or tension, in turn finding your own coping mechanisms. I did that with anxiety, took a long time though.

The last sentence reminded me of Richie from Bottom, from the Xmas episode, right after Eddie tried to blank out in front of the TV..."We're English here, Eddie, we're going to do Xmas properly; now, I need to get my sprouts on, don't want them all crunchy."

Can't see anything wrong with moaning actually. I get it if people are moaning at you or some other person who is there, that is annoying. If they are moaning about someone not there it is gossip, which can be very entertaining. I love it when people moan about systems or bosses or technology etc. It cheers me up no end that others have frustrations not just me.

I also think that we find people annoying who moan about things that don't bother us but we don't find people annoying who moan about stuff we find annoying too. At work I have noticed some people imply I'm moaning when I remark on one thing after listening to them and their mates moaning about several things for ages. So when your wife moans about crumbs it's because they don't bother you but you moan about other stuff but consider that justified.

Not really one to moan or complain but happy to compalin if I feel the srvice in inadequate.

I went for a meal in a Flaming Grill restaurant and my mixed grill took 50 mins fr it to be cooked. So I comlaind and got a £25 oucher out of it!

Sometime I use resolver.co.uk to get my way and to get free stuff!

The only time I feel the urge to complain about TV or radio is when I accidentally come across one of these Whinge-In programmes. They are always full of the most petty boring complaints and the BBC always concludes that "on balance we got it right".
