If he doesn't at least we'll all know where we stand and we can walk away from the whole cluster-fuck and let the club die.

Let's say we get £5m, 60% of that is £3m. an average of £1m each on say a GK, CB and ST would work wonders for us. And unlike our last few managers, I'd trust him with the cash.

I don't think they would need that much they could find all three for under a million and maybe at the time weaken some of the teams around us by signing their players or at least put in bids that may unsettle the player:whistle:

Doubt we would be able to afford the championship wages of 3 off £1M pound players.

Your talking wages of 200 to 250k for per million pound rated player. Have to put aside close 750k just for wages. When at the moment only paying Maddison about 100k if that.

TM will be given a portion of it I'm sure. It would be madness on behalf of the owners if they didn't.

Best way for them to walk away and recoup some money is for this club to be successful. If we are going to do that we need players who can take us out of this division and in the right direction.

Must say I disagree. This season is all about trying to win promotion and if we can sell him and strengthen in maybe THREE positions I would take that all day long.

You also have to remember, the word is that he would be loaned back anyway.

If done properly (there's a big if in there!) then realistically the only way smaller clubs can grow is by selling, and strengthening the squad as a whole as a result.

Charlton under Curbishley the best modern example.

Best to hold on to him this season and let the figure rise higher, Then sell with a season loan back here.

If we are a self funding club as sisu say, then we have no need to cash in cheaply as they have previously.

The more someone who has lots of cash want him and can't get him the more they will be prepared to pay.

That's how they operate, the best bet for over paying are Liverpool

Could possibly be up to £1m in wages (£5-6k pw) and that then has a knock on effect next season if we don't get promoted.

Can not believe in reading some people prepared to sell him!? If you can not see the genuine quality that lad has got then you don't know football. If we let him go for anything under £10m he is undersold

A bit of a no brainer for SISU this one. Finally they've appointed a manager who can be trusted to spend it correctly, I'd imagine we're way above the average attendances that the original budget was set on and with a true automatic promotion push you can only see that increasing so the chances are that any extra money in the budget will be taken care of by higher gates through the season and not actually from SISU/ARVO when it all pans out. More of an advance than an investment.

Glad its happened and suspected it would, well done SISU for showing some faith. Probably the best decision you've made for the club since you've been here. Not that the competition was stiff in that category ;) (TM's appointment aside)

It says almost nothing, aside from two Spurs fans saying they'd like him to sign.

It isn't anyone on here being prepared to sell him. It is people on here being realistic. And it would be a good move for all involved if it is for a large amount and TM is given the funds to secure promotion this season and then to get a side together that can compete in the championship.

Exactly! This is how football works and how clubs survive. Outside of the very top clubs in this country, every club is a selling club.

It's nothing to do with how good he is. And if we wait what's to say he wouldn't get injured again. He's a frail young thing and would get much more protection at a higher level.

For us it is all about getting promoted. If we can sell him for a big fee and get him back on loan and bring quality players in for the last push, it will be job done all round.

They offer enough money we will simply have to sell.

Because he is allowed a little leeway with loans and frees does not mean he'll be seeing any of the Maddison cash.

TM said previously that he wouldn't sell anyone unless it was an offer he couldn't refuse. It took a lot of negotiating before he signed his contract. It is said that he gets 60% of all income to spend as he likes. He got the training ground done up. He got the team bus repainted. And now it has come out that he has more money to spend now that attendances are up.

1, Everything points towards TM having the final say in who comes and goes. So why would he sell Maddison if he never got any of the money to strengthen the squad?

2, Do you really think that Joy is stupid enough to go against the contract signed with TM and risk him walking away? He is her only chance of getting back the money previously wasted.

I don't mind anyone having a go at any of the sides that have had a hand in putting us where we are now. But SISU seem to be doing the right thing now. And I stupidly trust them to continue to let TM have the last say in everything.

My how things have changed. Just to clarify; you think that Joy has entered into a contract with TM about what funds she will or won't supply?
You trust them? Ah bless.

And as usual you only use the part of what I say that gives you a chance of having a dig and miss out the other half of the sentence.

So why did it take so long for TM to sign a new contract? And why has TM been given more funds now our attendances are up?

Don't get me wrong... I am thrilled that attendances are up and that our owners have responded by loosening the purse strings. But let's be clear... no manager, ever, ever has full charge of transfers/budgets. (unless he is also the owner) And the fact that you now 'trust' a hedge fund on the strength of half a season is pitiful.

Pitiful?

Ok. Try and call me wrong without taking what I say out of context for once.

Has TM been given 60% of all income to spend how he likes?

Is he the only chance that we know of for Joy to get back the money wasted previously?

Has TM done with the smallest budget what the previous managers have failed to do?

Has anyone from SISU poked their nose into what TM has been doing?

Has TM had a full say in where the money has gone including painting the team bus?

In fact for once come out with your reasons for saying I am wrong and my views are pitiful and tell us all why I am wrong. All you are doing is putting a view across without any reasoning behind it. Do you not like the fact that I don't have a go at any of the sides all of the time?

Has TM been given 60% of all income to spend how he likes? We really don't know

Has TM done with the smallest budget what the previous managers have failed to do? Yes

Has anyone from SISU poked their nose into what TM has been doing? I've no idea and neither do you

Has TM had a full say in where the money has gone including painting the team bus? Over the modest buget he was given, yes

I think you are a nice fella but very naive if you think that TM has full control and the leopard (hedge fund) has changed it's spots.

As I have said a couple of times already what evidence have you to show that TM doesn't have full say on the 60% of income budget? Or was it Joy's idea to do up the training ground after years of neglect and her idea to repaint the team bus as she doesn't like orange?

And why has his budget gone up with our attendances?

The best thing you have been able to come out with is your hedge fund comments. And before TM I would have agreed.

I must say I find this all rather bizarre. After years of defending SISU against many including you (not because they deserved it but purely in the interests of fairness) I now find myself trying to counter your equally rabid love for them!
You are the one who has claimed that TM has full say on the 'rumored' 60% so the onus is on you to prove to provide evidence, not me.
Yes his budget has gone up with attendances... great, I have not claimed otherwise.
As for the hedge fund comments... are they no longer one since TM's arrival???? As I say, you are very naive.

There is no doubt TM had assurances from the board before he signed his new contract. I'm with you astute it's refreshing to see TM being backed. I believe he has had as much control as any previous manager. The more success he brings (relatively speaking) I.e current position the more control and autonomy he gets.

In July 2015 the board could never have envisaged in 6 months that the average gates Would be close to averaging 15k plus (last 6 home games).

phenomenal change , in just 6 months, down to the board for signing TM, and TM has done the rest. So far so good. All positivity.

Extra investment over and above original budget is the money generated through larger crowds / income than was expected ie 11000/12000

Doubt it will be anything from our owners
