TM warned us...... (4 Viewers)

It is interesting how some fans think Ricketts is better at RB and some think he is better at CB. I think chopping and changing position is the main problem for him and think he is capable at both.

're Lorentzson, he is recovering from a nasty little injury. Push him too soon and you run the risk of setting him back 5 or 6 weeks. Sometimes it pays to give them another week or two.

Best position we've been in for years....no complaints. Every team goes through a slump in the season. Burton, Walsall and Gillingham have theirs to come. Top two a real possibility along with Wigan is my thinking!

Thing is we have to come out of the slump so can't just ignore the problems and assume it will all come right on its own.

We're getting to the point where we're moving past it being a slump IMO. Before the Burton and Walsall games we were talking about those as major games that could have a big impact on where we finish. Then it was OK as we had easier games coming up yet we've been thumped by Southend.

It's now a very poor 10 game run, getting on for a quarter of the season. If it doesn't get turned around very quickly we can forget about the play offs let alone auto.

My worry is if we don't achieve anything this year than influential players will be going back ie Armstrong, Murphy etc and then we are back to square 1. I guess that's the trouble with the loan market though.

We only have 3 loan players in the squad. Bigi, Murphy and Arma. Unfortunately Murphy and Arma have been our 'goals' this season.

There will always be more loan gems in the future but there is that feeling of this is our best chance ever and we can't muck this up.

I think TM needs to get some fresh faces through the door this week to lift the players and show we mean business again.

Get some proper defenders and attackers in.

That is a worry look at Swindon and Orient in the last few seasons finished top 6 didn't go up and then struggled.

You can probably add Maddison and fleck to that list, plus more than half the squad's contracts run out in the summer. Next season could be a major rebuilding job again.

In an ideal world you'd want to build on and with your best players next season, but if we're still in league one, we're be scrabbling around trying to replace them.

It's dtill January. We got away with it yday due to other results

So sat vs scunthorpe represents another chance to kick start promotion push

We are still in same.position really. Win 2 or 3 on trot and we are right bang in the autos mix

CCFC recent form is a concern, & we are experiencing games against teams who are physical to the point of trying to kick us off the park, we are getting zero protection from referees, & the FA seem to condone thuggery by teams,
if we can get tough ourselves we can come through this

It's possible but I'm not banking on it by any stretch of the imagination. Either way it's still not the doom and gloom many are seeing it as. I'd have took challenging for a playoff place before the season started and because I don't have an issue with short term memory I can see how much we've improved from last season and I'm grateful for that and that's more than good enough.

The last 10 games have been no improvement on last season.

We have better players than last season though. Injuries have hurt us, but at the same time we just haven't gelled properly since the introduction of Joe Cole.

If we can get the chemistry right then we should most certainly be able to finish top 6.

If you take our average for the season we're still on coarse for the playoffs and comfortably. The defence needing to gel is the only issue I see. It's been injury ravaged and is yet to be consistent with personnel or players playing in their preferred positions. That's been the cause of our slump and is nothing that can't be fixed given time.

All teams make mistakes we just need to capitalise on others mistakes...ours are getting punished atm... the thing for me is that the goals have all but dried up... BUT just 1 signing could well be the missing link whether it be a Dennis Wise type or a McGoldrick type we are so close so yet again in TM we trust

Look at Arsenal at one point this season they played pretty football but couldn't score they seem to be doing ok now though

we will finish strongly ,as the weather gets better and pitches dry out ,a clear view of the finishing post and things will turn around .still think we need to be starting tudgay and working with him up front . got to be realistic and the play offs our best hope ,we need to establish a team for that

Disagree on that. The last 3 have been a small disaster, but prior to that there was some good results alongside games where we didn't get what we deserved. Or games where lapses in concentration cost us. But overall it has been much better than last year. If you go back 12 games you would include two convincing wins.

The last three is only really where we have looked like we have come off the rails. Two of those were against the top two sides. Although it was disappointing that Burton beat us by putting in a below par performance themselves.

It can still be turned around with a few good results. But it is nowhere near like last season.

It's not all doom and gloom. We really need perspective. Defensive injuries are costing us. We are into the second half of the season and played everyone once, they have sussed our game plan, stop the front four from playing, simple. We don't have a plan B. Tudgay & MAF offering nothing or too old so when Armstrong doesnt play, we are relying on midfielders scoring.
Its a bad run of form nothing more. We are still 4th and if we get the bad run out of the way now we will end up alright. Either way, it's a better season than the last 20. I'm sure TM is working hard in the background to put it right.

5th with the pack closing in.
We need to get it right in the next game or we could drop out of the top 6 in a couple of weeks.

I agree. Football can change quickly. 2 wins on the bounce with other teams dropping and it looks rosey again.

Totally agree Otis.

Its time to turn it round, and start getting some results but there are still plenty of games left to get it right...lets hope it starts soon!

at the start of the season we lost to Walsall, drew with Southend, lost to Scunthorpe, lost to Bury,
I think we beat Burton and Chesterfield both by a goal. Out off a possible 18 points we picked up 7 over that month.
We got over that.
I expect the same again now
Every team has dips

That's right, who on here thought Burton, Walsall, and Wigan wouldn't get a win between them this weekend?

Otis

Likewise but they still have games in hand which can't be overlooked.
But then Burton play at Peterborough tomorrow. They can't both win.

Next Tuesday Walsall are away at Doncaster, which could prove to be a very difficult game.

I am not too concerned about games in hand personally.

Not writing them off. Just not too worried about them. Let them play them, see how they get on and then look at how far in front or behind we are.

This is where Mogga earns his bread from dips in form. He is responsible for results ultimately. Let's see what he can do over the next few games.
