so who's going to replace Tony Mowbray then? (16 Viewers)

I made comments in the Mowbray out thread earlier, had a little rant in frustration. You've basically said what I was trying too... Im not saying he must be sacked, but we all know getting a new manager in 9/10 gets a reaction from the players and then pulls in the results.
Again this is ludicrous. Manager selection requires a large amount of fortune. A manager can be picked who slots in and works with a club and yet is an abject failure elsewhere. For example if we had recruited Russell Slade after his failings at Brighton the forum would have gone into meltdown but at Orient he was a fantastic success. Robins was hugely successful at his time here. There is no straightforward answer but to not be in the top 6 this season would require a massive downturn in form post November so that would constitute failure and I would not see any point in retaining the manager next season on that basis.

The club has to evaluate its options - if results carried on as they are for another month I would have no problem with them lining up another replacement to try and get a boost in results and achieve play off positioning.

Yeah and look how many times Ferguson could have been sacked in his first few years at Man U. Look how much Man U would have won if they'd have sacked him within twelve months. Not half of what they ended achieving I bet. And relatively speaking he achieved less than TM has since he's been here in the same period of time.

Also as someone told you in the other thread. Perhaps we should sack the manager every month. We'd be top then.

As far as I can see TM has made three mistakes (1) Making Burge his no. 1 GK, (2) Giving Reda a contract, (3) Signing Fortune. I don't think any of these were seen as obvious mistakes at the time TM made them (except maybe (2) by some people). Regarding (1), he probably took the advice of Oggy and (3) Fortune was a player he knew from his days at Celtic and he was probably overly influenced by nostalgia. As for signing Cole, almost everyone saw it as a coup at the time. When it comes to bad decisions, I don't think you can put TM in the same class as SP. At least his team choices, substitutions and after-match reviews make sense. I think its very premature to discuss replacing TM. If we were in danger of relegation, I'd consider it, but not when we are still 5th.

I'll say it again:

If you don't commit to an opinion, you can never be 'wrong'.

Hence, there's a lot of typing and nothing actually being said.

The thread is as pointless as firing Mowbray.

We can argue at 'cross purposes' all day long. Especially if some of you can't see you are.

'Forum' meaning : a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Are you one of the guys who played for Christ the king under 14's and won the Bermuda tournament (on the back of it got a trail at arsenal and have lived on it ever since?) I apologise for being what seems to be a knob since I have been on here but forums are for open conversation. Im open to all comments, and im still sat on the fence for what I think is the right thing to do. Hence why I looked for other peoples opinion. Its a shame people cant look at the pros and the cons of the argument.

Take a breath, it's only the internet.

I'd suggest if you want to enjoy your time on here, don't try and give it 'the biggun'.

I have an opinion. I've stated and debated it repeatedly. You did two 360's in your first two posts. That said, I applaud your willingness to absorb the opinions of others.

However, last time I checked, on the subject of firing Mowbray, Grendel doesn't have one.

Source?

I can't remember it happening with us the last few managers.

Do you actually have any evidence to back that up or is it another old wives tale?

He shouldn't be fired but he isn't the genius that some claimed him to be a few weeks ago.

It wasn't long ago that any criticism of Thorn was labelled as madness by the experts.

Ahh, but comparing Thorn with Mowbray is like comparing Harrod's with Poundstretcher.

This thread is pathetic and evidence what a bunch of numptys some so called supporters of this club truly are.

Assholes couldn't see a good thing if it hit them in the face. Mowbray's the best thing that's happened to this club in probably about 17 years.

And still will be the best things that's happened even if we cock up the play offs and finish 8th. Which would still equate to the best season in the last 15 years straight after the worst season in our history.

Now fuck off the lot of you.

Are you upset about something? ;)

It is only the WUM's that want to get rid of TM. The rest of us know that things haven't gone our way including losing our defence to injury.
