Its not just us Nik, but players at Walsall tonight will be happier than ours knowing Henry, Bradshaw and Sawyer were not cashed in like a casino chip.. Maddison wasn't screaming to go to Norwich but the owners seemed keen to get rid and announce it at 11.04, this is not great business or fair on fans who deserve better.

So you dont think we should have told them to do one? He had 2yrs left on his contract and a host of big clubs sniffing. 2mill is piss poor business and you know it!
Why did he sign for Norwich if he knew spurs or Liverpool wanted him?

No, I am saying it because it isn't just us who have sold a player. People seem to think it is only ever CCFC / SISU who sell players when in League One.
Bullshit nothing wrong with selling your prized assets so long as you get top money for them,& re- invest.
We don't get top money & we don't re-invest hence we stand still at best

We always sell too early and too cheap, just dont understand the logic behind it.

Probably an unpaid invoice for the legal team at SISU HQ . Sorted "We Go Again " To court that is.
Your prob right, paid for this weeks lawyers. Great deal we got! Norwich get maddison and we get some snake flogging a dead horse case!

Surely the agent would be speaking to the big clubs to get them involved? Spurs would be a better move for his client than Norwich.
Which would suggest he/she couldnt get a firm bid from them and our owners wanted a sale at all costs

Buying Clubs tap up players, find out contract details, wages, bonuses, buy out clauses of any individual they happen to be interested in. Maddison would of known all interested parties and all on offer for a while, but until a price has been agreed the selling club are still in a very strong position. I don't think he demanded a move but as soon as the player knows owners are willing to sell then players agents act in the clients best interest in regards to money.

We still had the option to hold on and turn down offer's, we didn't and he is now a NCFC player, TM statement will be interesting as he will of not sanctioned thus deal more like told its happening. Now TM has to decide his future does he jump on the next opportunity that comes along or stick and fight, i have a bad feeling about this.

If I were him I'd run like the wind. This club is a Busted-flush.

Its so soul destroying to feel like the owners were leaving it well alone to those who understand how to build and create interest and to find some success. We have done better than expected this season so far but this could really hurt the club if we don't start winning games. I really hate the owners and don't feel like they deserve our fans to support to carry on this repetitive madness. I know what a hamster feels like now on that wheel, he runs round and the harder he pushes the more he stands still.

Clearly we are not the only club who sell players, but we do seem to be very good at not getting their true values.

I think a fee of around £5m would have been a fair price for him given the talent, hype, market, interest and length of contract he still had.

Which is the same as Ali went to Spurs for and Walcott went to Arsenal...is he at that level?

Probably comfortably in his stride. Tony is a smart manager who knows football. He has worked pretty much his whole career at selling clubs, he knows how it works.

For Tony, nothing has changed, he still has all the players he had before, there is nothing to concern him, in fact he now had more defensive depth to work with.
He will be concentrating on nothing more than bringing the team back to winning form and pushing for promotion. He wont be thinking about the summer yet because that isn't his job right now, his job is making the players he has win games. He clearly said that bringing players in wasn't down to him, he highlights certain players of interest to him and the club does the rest if they choose to.

Not saying he is. Liverpool once bought Andy Carroll for £35m who should i compare him to based on the price paid?
Just shows we have dipshit owners.

We all know Carroll was worth nowhere near that.

I am pretty sure if the club could have got £11m for him then they would have wouldn't they?

Wallcot was 7m and huge add-ons -along time ago + even more money swilling about in prem next year.2m is chicken feed.

What would people think Maddisons true value is today?

Certainly more than the 2 mill being quoted, if we had held out I'm certain with a strong finish to the season and some "stand outs" from JM we could have doubled the asking price.
assuming the above happens 2 mill will be season as a snip?

You would like to think so, but alas no. As soon as a couple of quid is dangled in front of them like a carrot they seem to take it. Did we need to sell him right now?

Maddison would need to be a shock call-up to the Euro 2016 squad before he can begin to be compared to Walcott potential-wise.

All this will be forgotten when we get automatic promotion.

Yes it's a massive blow & yes I wish we'd have kept him.

But the best bit of transfer business was getting those two CB's in.

At the end of the season those two defenders will be the reason we go up NOT Naaarwich signing a 'potential' superstar.

Looking at this window-really only City & Wigan have made significant moves in the market.

We have a squad capable now of getting promoted.

Think yourselves lucky we don't support Sheff Utd-they signed no one and there supporters are fuming!

In went in off Ferguson's beard....

Perhaps we did. Who knows what the state of the club's finances is.

I'm sorry he was sold this window, and especially if it was only £2m. Perhaps that is what he really is worth, after all Charlie Austin went for £4m and he's achieved at Premier level. I would have preferred a more considered deal at the end of the seasonwhen we knew where we were. But let's face it, a lot of people were saying that a sale and loan back was the expected option and that money may have allowed us to strengthen the squad in depth.
