On Football Focus on Saturday they were talking about Sturridge and his injuries.He has had 18 separate injuries just this season,and Mark Lawrenson said he's probably out now with a twisted sock !Dion Dublin commented that every player in any division plays with some sort of injury,but you just have to sometimes carry on and put it to the back of your mind.Someone also said of Sturridge that he has the heart of a pea,so in other words he is a bit of a softy who would rather pick up his £ 150,000 a week than play football for his living ? No wonder Liverpool fans staged a walk out over pricing !

Yes Nick they said his latest one was in training recently.Lawro was giving him lots of stick,saying he should man up a bit more etc. He may be after a transfer but as he's now 26 years old he needs to be playing more before his career passes him by.

I know he was as hard as nails but our own George Curtis broke his leg at Forest but was back playing in just a couple of months. Sturridge would be out a whole season with that !

No problem with the fella's religion - whatever floats your boat, imho. I suspect that he's just a bit knackered physically. He's probably been overtraining and stressing his body since he was seven.

He wouldn't be the first footballer to quit because of injury in his twenties, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone in truth.

I'd take 5. Rooney, Vardy, Kane, Walcott and either Defoe or Sturridge. If I had to choose now it would be Defoe. The squad next month should be the one we take to the Euros, barring any injuries.

Hmm Defoe is a good shout tbh. I'd take Rooney but I wouldn't start him. I'd go with the youngsters. Alli, Barkley and Kane all to start I'd say.

Defoe I always think has been criminally underrated. If ever we've actually had a goalscorer, he's it.

Getting on a bit now, mind!
