Really? All are or have been England youth internationals, we may not of heard of them but I imagine the likes of Armstrong, Kent, etc were all well known in the footballing community. None were going to actually sign with us other on loan.

And I'm not knocking them, but it's all short term fix with 20 out of contract players and 6 loans free to leave at the end of the season.

I don't think they have shown the eye of picking a player as one for the future or in long term building of the squad in mind.

Plenty of England youth players get loaned out to clubs and have little Impact and are deemed failures.

You have to find the right one that suits your club and your style of play. I think they have done that fantastically.
That still takes the ability to spot a player.

My view is if you sell maddison or Wilson
You use a smaller portion of that money to sign the next Wilson or maddison.
If you don't have one in the ranks already.
They maybe planning do do that already. Although by not holding out to try and get more money in the summer. That may not be the case.
It seems the money was needed in this window for some reason.

Astute clearly believed him

Reading what someone says and believing everything are two different matters.

Nearly everyone on here reads what you put. But you get caught out so much with your untruths and made up crap that nobody believes you all the time. Same thing really.

this is is what I'm saying - Mowbray/Venus haven't shown the ability to do that. The only young player they have signed is Lamieres and the jury is still out on him. None of the young player he's signed on loan who have had an impact on the team would be available to buy or anywhere near affordable.

Probably the same reason the council leader before wasn't having any of other people interested in the club who were interested in the ground.

No idea why they were so keen for CCFC (even before SISU) not to get the share back but weren't fussed about Wasps.

But SISU were the council's prefered bidder were they not?

You would need a transfer fee to sign the next maddison/Wilson off a smaller club

I think we are very reliant on a decent group from the academy stepping up to the mark and supplement them with loans and freebies, we ain't on our own.

We have paid a transfer this season, there is money in the budget. Peterborough, signed 2 lads from nuneaton as potential for the future, I'm sure they didn't cost much.

We're lot along. It's not conducive to success. Swindon are a prime example. Don't think there will be many from the academy around next season - Phillips and Haynes aren't good enough, Sambou, Thomas still won't be ready. It will likely be just Willis as a first team regular next season.

You are calling a person you don't know and have never met on a social media site a thick c......
there is quite an irony in that.

The club were already overspending on wages versus revenue coming in so it's a fairly dumb thing to say.

I am not sure either, I'd have played the "The council are screwing the football club over but want to sell to Wasps" line ;) Drum up support, show Wasps are lurking and I think pre Northampton if Wasps have attempted to come it would have been different.

Totally agree.

Calling someone you don't know a c..t on a football forum because they have a different opinion to you is a very dumb thing to do. (I know it wasn't you but that is the post you are justifying)

Running the football club well in exchange for progressive ownership of ACL. Would be a very wise thing to as it builds up trust before an asset is handed over. It would have avoided all this sorry mess.

Yhey knew that SISU were going to want to buy ACL from the beginning. So It's unlikely that they had the alegend "SISU out" stance because of that.
So why do you think it is that they developed this stance

Did they know that? They weren't interested in other offers where people wanted to sort the stadium out there and then...

How much did we pay for vincelot.
I thinking more if you sell someone for 2 million their replacement might cost 10-20% of that. Especially if the club is self funded prior to that sale.

More like they thought SISU would want to buy ACL. But once they found out that SISU didn't want to buy ACL but would use any means to take it over it became a battle of ego's more than anything else.

It might be their actions from the owners that brought us Onye Igwu, Leonard Brody, Ken Dilieu, Fisher,relegation,67 game Clive Platt, Sixfields amongst so many other low points, it could be said that their tenure might have been a disaster and that they were prone to the odd commercial mistake as well as possibly some poor behaivour / conduct.

SISU must be pi$$ing themselves at the level of support that they get on this especially as CCFC have nothing to gain as any SISU win will benefit their investors only.

No one takes you seriously since you called season ticket holders worms. Add to that the fact you wanted the club to go bust and start again. Excuse me if your opinions count for fuck all.

You didn't post on here for ages, do us all a favour and fuck off to where you were hiding.

Ooo er, get you.
Meanwhile I hope the fans can get back to talking about football soon. Of course, if the owners could focus on that as well, that'd help.

Wouldn't they be after they took over?

The point being he wouldn't consider ground ownership until the club were in the premiership

Given his primary objective while here seemed to be getting high interest payments back on his loans I would suggest that was hardly ever likely to happen.

@ fernandopartridge....... "You have SISU saying they can afford to buy ACL but they can't afford to make the football club competitive." Nothing wrong with what Dongo has written, it's the truth. There was no reason for your reply to be in such a condescending manner.

Wierd isn't it that SISU can't/won't to buy ACL but yet can afford millions on litigation. I'm with OSB on this, it is questionable just what the end game is? On the face of it that could have made an offer as good as Wasps several years ago and paid out little more than they will end up paying by the way they are doing things right now. Do they really believe they will get £M's relief, it is a huge gamble if that is their strategy.

Do you think Eastwood would have accepted conditions relating to their funding strategy to purchase the arena.

It's a dumb idea.
