JOB to Scunny (5 Viewers)

the catalyst for this has to be mowbray, who hasn't appeared to rate him along the way. Whenever he's had a chance to drop him he's taken it. Considering the effect job can have on the team i am really appalled it has come to this.

For someone who plays the passing game and has one of the best levels of vision in the team, i was always surprised coupled with his high work rate why he was dropped at any chance, and hasn't been starting at all recently, as that is tm's style of football. He may be a little off form, but no one can question his work rate.

I think that was what has made me so angry about murphy recently, constantly not putting in the required effort (despite any form) but retaining his place in the team week in week out, where as jim is an absolute work horse and has not been getting any time in that position to prove himself.

I wouldn't be surprised if jim pushed this through, but i don't blame him at all. I really don't think he's been treated fairly this year. Not only that, but i think we've missed him, and will continue to miss him for the rest of the season.

Best of luck jim, and i'm sorry our (usually impressive) management team couldn't sort their shit out.

fucking hell

in my opinion all he offers is energy as he is really poor technically, and now we have Rose who has energy as well as height, O'brien is pretty much surplus to requirements.

That would be those goals he's scored at important times and his through-passes for goals, then. (Energy and spirit aside).

Sometimes players dont fit into a managers desired style of play, TM clearly feels JOB isnt a starter and JOB clearly wants to play football.

Better to let him move on if his attitude towards not starting has an effect on the team overall.

I trust Mowbrays judgement in this situation

Good move IMO, keeps him match fit, possibly releases a wage, can help take points off some of the top teams (Millwall, as suggested earlier) And most importantly is probably on a 24hr callback if we have an injury crisis. So he will come back match fit if we need him.

Totally agree!

I rate JOB, but if TM doesn't see him as a player to take us forwards then I trust him to make the right decision.

On the negative side for JOB, he does roam about a bit and causes us to lose shape and he does indeed seemingly shout at other players around him,as Nick mentioned earlier. Lots of positives to be had though too of course.

Sad to see him go, but will trust TM's judgement.

As you, that's as a squad player, not full starts. Been a number of games, also, that have been changed (for the better) by his appearance. Very few could stand back and prefer Bigi over O'Brien.

......I'd have put JOB on second half and bought off Murphy - his (Murphy's) tendency to give up , whing at referees and lose interest when things go against him is is shocking at times. At 4-0 perhaps Murphy should have been off and JOB, for all his positional faults, always gives 100% . A bit surprised at this , but the manager knows what he's doing , no doubt.

I can see where you're coming from, but i'd put this more down to passion and kicking some of the lazier players up their arse, which they have needed at times.

The worst kind of team you can have is a quiet team that don't talk to each other, that's when miscommunication happens and the drive to win games go away. You need vocalist, as long as they aren't bullies. With the encouragement Jim gives his colleagues I would be surprised if he was one of them.

Definitely not a Mowbray player, always enjoy watching JOB play but his positional discipline is terrible and there are a number of goals this season you can attribute to him not being in the right position or tracking his man. He's obviously on a fairly decent wage too as he was one of SP's main signings and choose the contract we were offering over his renewal at Barnsley, hopefully this means we have some budget left to bring in an improvement. I'd also like to se Lamieras given more of a run out as he's got the potential to be a better player than JOB.

I'm shocked that he's gone now, thought he would go at the end of the season, but it's better to let him leave than have an unhappy player in the dressing room any day.

Anyone else see against port vale away after the game he didn't come over to the fans walked straight down the tunnel looked fuming. Might have been a coincidence but I said to my brother at the time he's clearly not happy with something. Needs first team football but unless we have someone lined up on a free I.e moussa I can't see Mowbray letting him go

Just got in and seen this, a bit surprised but these things happen, we have a lot of midfielders at the club and this has probably been on the cards since we signed Rose, who I like the look of. People will be upset as JOB is a heart on the sleeve kind of player but if we go up he will soon be forgotten. I wish him well and thank him for his goals and assists.

Never forgot his attitude at Crewe away last season, shouting at everyone and frustrated by the team. Petulant and damaging to the others and especially young Willis making his debut as captain whom he undermined.

Not arguing we weren't terrible that day, but it showed alot about his character the way he went about the pitch.

Spotted that too, maybe pissed we didn't win the game or just unhappy he never gets any game time.

Hell if I was sat on the bench watching Murphy flailing his arms around like a petulant child when he inevitable loses the ball and can't be arsed to try and win it back, I'd be pissed too. Especially given the effort he always gives and the impact he has shown he can have on a game.
Gutted he's gone. Hopefully he's available for the playoffs, should we make it, we might need that energy and depth!

Definitely looks like a move to free up wages for someone.

He's fallen down the Mogga pecking order as it is.

I wish O'Brien was as good as he is in the head of some of our fans because then we'd be about 10 points clear at the top of the league.

Agree with you on this, it's just a shame that half of the Facebook feed believe different!

Are we sure?
I'm more concerned that we may be freeing up space to pay who's already here. I really hope I'm wrong and we have a replacement waiting in the wings to suprise us

He's not the only one that applies to

If he had been given more game time rather than dropped at the first opportunity we may well be better off than we are now, I do believe that may be the case, but we'll probably never know, unless we get promoted and by that point no one will care. Especially as other players have retained their positions throughout poor performances it's a little frustrating.
