I've given my opinions on why our form dipped and why it coincided with our defensive woes. If you don't agree with me fair enough but all you've done is what you always do and tell me why I'm wrong. What you haven't done is what you never do, tell us why you're right.

My point about Cole is as stated by the more learned observer on the forum.

We have had to change styles, had to change the team around when he couldn't play two games in a row and also his arrival co-incided with indifferent form. It's also hard to claim he has had many games where he has shone and created a massive impact.

When he arrived I believed it would be a similar effect to when Wise arrived (a player no one wanted - including me) - instant impact and a massive influence on results.

There was a lot of euphoria and as of yet that hasn't been paid back.

That's not anti-Cole, or Cole is shit or the usual made up bollocks accusations but an observation based on results, performance and strategy before and after.

Lets be honest he is just not the player he was, and may be he should retire this season. He is not going to be another Dennis Wise. Harsh but true.
I said from the beginning that I couldn't understand TM taking on Joe Cole. He just doesn't gel in my opinion. Never rated him before, when he was a "high profile" player.He seems to want too much time on the ball at the moment, the kit lady must be having a terrible time getting the black marks off the kit ,where the rest of the team are carrying cole..
He has to be sent back, realistically. Seems pointless even having him if he's so far gone, in fitness terms, that he can't perform at this level.
If he was a dedicated professional, would he not have kept himself fit? Why does someone else have to make him fit?
If he's costing anything at all, send him back. Costs a more effective loanee in the squad and there's other positions we need to spend wages.

i agree though he's had a shaky start, especially why he was so unfit when he should have been near match fit whilst at Villa.
i hope saturday will be a turning point for him, he never stopped encouraging the lads Saturday and if he wasted one ball I missed it.

as I said I'm not entering this ding dong , just my opinion that he could be really useful for the rest of the season if he plays like that regularly.

Valid, but perhaps a little premature.

Dennis Wise was match fit when we signed him. Cole was always going to be a project having been left out in the cold for so long. It was a risk, but obviously one that TM thought was worth taking. Sure, a judgement can be made prior to full fitness, as long as you afford him one now he's fit. It appears that Saturday was a favorable game for him. Let's see how he does from here.

I am not saying any of it is his fault I am not just dewy eyed about his presence here and until last weekend found the whole thing underwhelming. He was 33 when he signed - Wise was far older and had far more impact. Perhaps you didn't make it to your usual 6 games a year at the latter end of that season to witness it.

When Wise joined us he was match fit. When Cole joined us he had been out injured for quitea long time. Yet you compare the two.
