The league will sort itself out position wise

We are in a false position as we should be top 2 as its false to the teams above us apart from Wigan

It will pan out , wait and see as every week now will form the true standings
It's always going to look a little lopsided too with some teams having played two more games than other teams.

According to the Beeb stats, Southend haven't had a single shot in the second half.

And just 2 shots all game. None on target.

Just a win tomorrow would be great. Someone is surely going to slip up and of course Walsall play Burton, so they both can't win.

Since we last played a fortnight ago virtually every result has gone our way. Perhaps the footballing Gods will once more look down and smile on us

Yeah maybe but then the footballing Gods will read Otis's play off thread,
And strike us down again.:)

I'm quite happy for Burton to keep winning. If results go our way tomorrow, (including Burton win), then we're right back in the mix for the 2nd automatic.

Can anyone let me know where these footballing Gods have been the last 16 years?

No pun intended, but I think they have taken their eye off the ball.

When I was growing up I always thought the Footballing God was 'Socrates' who played for Brazil at the time with a huge beard!

If you have the above with Chesterfield win you would get 1635/1 with bookies

If you have the above with Chesterfield draw you would get 1512/1

Worth a cheeky £1 in each?

So Tuesday we have:

Bury v Peterborough

Fleetwood v Gillingham

Millwall v Wigan

Bradford v Colchester

Sheff Utd v Burton

Southend v Crewe

Walsall v Scunthorpe

Also need to keep an eye on Shrewsbury v Rochdale. We have Rochdale coming up next time out and they are unbeaten in 4 and just drew against Bradford and then beat Sheff Utd.

They should prove to be a stern test for us. Two very tough games, Barnsley away and then Rochdale at home. We need to knuckle down and grind out victories.

Simply have to win. No further comment.

Barnsley on a fantastic run aren't they?

Won 9 out of 11.

I would take a draw. Only on the proviso though that we pick up 3 points against Rochdale.

4 points from 2 games wouldn't be too bad.

Can understand people saying we have to win, but we have to be realistic. Barnsley have won 9 out of 11 and we have lost 4 out of 6. They are buoyant, we are deflated. Have to take those things into consideration.

A draw there would be a good result from a footballing point of view, but not maybe not in terms of league placing.

Think Bradford will beat Colchester, pushing us out of the top 6 for the first time in forever.

Hope SP's lot will do us a favour, but can see this as a draw.

Could do with Wigan beating Millwall.

Not too worried about Port Vale, because we have two games in hand on them.

Southend should get something out of Crewe, but I am hoping that Crewe can at least pinch a draw.

Walsall? Tough one to call. Scunthorpe aren't that far behind us now, so hopefully they will put another decent effort in for us.

If we can bag a point I would say that would be a great boost, but I can't see it. Hopefully TM will surprise us with his team selection.

Sheff Utd v Burton I hope is a draw.

What a great boost a victory would give us tomorrow though, eh!

Just wish I could believe it. I think this has home banker written all over it, unless TM pulls some tactical masterstroke out of his hat!

Okay, for what it is worth, here are the key fixtures for this weekend.

Bury v Bradford

Crewe v Burton

Fleetwood v Sheff U

Millwall v Blackpool

Port Vale v Colchester

Scunthorpe v Gillingham

Everyone to lose please. Even in games where rival teams are playing each other! :(

We can beat Rochdale surely?

As much as we are a bad run of form we are still in the top 6 which is incredible so I still believe we can make it

Yep.

And we can beat Scunthorpe surely and beat Fleetwood surely?

Nearly always positive about the City, but said we would lose to Barnsley (not rocket science) and I think we will lose on Saturday too.

City 1 -2 Rochdale.

The interesting one will be people's views on Walsall v Barnsley I'm hoping Walsall win like Burton & Wigan they've got 3 top 6 places for me. Still a battle on for the other 3 Gills slipping a bit, Millwall inconsistent.

Yep. Anything but a Barnsley win. They are on fire and their fantastic run need to be stopped.
