RCC 7

Ricketts 4 Slow and ponderous.

Stephens 5. Started off brilliantly, but second half he went to pot too and played the most ridiculous crossfield pass in the second half that could easily have resulted in a goal.

Cargill 5. Quiet game

Stokes 6. Looking better going forwards today.

Fleck 4. Had lots of time on the ball, but lost possession on a number of occasions and did his usual trick of disappearing in the second half.

Vincelot 3. The bloke was on a death wish today and probably should have been sent off. Was clearly fouled though for their first goal.

Murphy 4. Seemed reluctant to take the full back on and was either trying to cross or shoot from quite deep positions.

Cole 5. Apart from set pieces he offered little.

Madison 4. Little boy lost.

Armstrong 5. No service of any note.

Rcc 5 - Some good saves. Couldn't have done anything about the goals.

Ricketts 3 - A sadly too common of recent times performance from our captain.

Stephenson 5 - Pretty good, I like him, but a couple of suicidle passes.

Cargill 4 - Did alright, not as good as recent games.

Stokes 5 - Steady. One of our better players (if you can say that).

Fleck 4 - Hit and miss.

Vincelot 3 - I like him, but a bit sloppy today.

Murphy 2 - Awful again. When will he be dropped?

Maddison 2 - Looks like he's got too big for his boots.

Cole 3 - Largely absent.

Armstrong 4 - Blazed a few shots over, but didn't have much to feed off.

Tudgay 6 - Great energy and work rate when he came on.

Fortune 3 - Not great.

Lameires 4 - Again, not great, but want to see him given a start.

He was. Can't see that he did anything wrong at all.

Id rather start Tudgay than Maddison
But then if Cole can't play two games in four days and Murphy needs dropping, if we then drop Madison too that is all three attacking midfielders missing all in one go.

Tudguy as I have constantly said has been chronically underused this season TM has got this badly wrong in my book.
If we are sticking with the 4-2-3-1 would have him up top move Armstrong back into the three - who drops out
take you pick.

Agree that tudgay underused this season.
To be honest I think RCC the only starter who came out of the game with any credit. Not because he played well but he did the basics for his position. Everyone else was sloppy in possession and lacked commitment when we didn't have the ball. The defence is still poor...we were constantly stretched by a team who started with the sole aim of getting a draw. Midfield was nowhere in breaking up their play or in starting our attacks. The forwards...well how often did their keeper need to make a save?

Bring JOB back. Can't understand why we let him go.

That ship has sailed, rightly or wrongly. After what has been said I would say there is no return to be had.

I think only RCC and Stokes came out of Saturdays game with any credit. Maddison was the biggest disappointment for me. I think he needs to realise that constantly diving doesn't help his game or his team.

People fall for the diving though. People were going mad near me when the "penalty" wasn't given.

I think I laughed at the fact he was diving before the ball got to him.

The problem Maddison had is that every time he got the ball Fleetwood rushed two players on to him. A better or more experienced player would have counteracted this tactic by looking to immediately move the ball on to the spare man created by them doubling-up on him. I'm sure he's good enough to cope with being marked by two men, but it will probably come with experience (i.e. when he has left us).

If I was an opposition manager I would be using that same tactic on him when I played him.

As for Murphy, I think he should put more effort in and I also think that he is best suited to playing through the middle or on the left where he can cut in and shoot or drive at defenders whilst being on his better foot.

To put his performances in to context, he has scored twice as many goals in 3/4 of this season as our top scorer managed in all of last season.

RCC and Stokes were the best players on the pitch. Tudgay when he came on also.

Murphy and Maddison were awful. Taking maddison off for fortune though ............ dunno about that.

RCC and stokes I agree, both cargil and Stephens started well but there performances slipped. Tudgay linked up play well and used his experience but Ricketts was awful. I no he's captain but needs dropping with Murphy

If he wasn't captain I think he would have been rested. You don't see many teams dropping their captain though do you.

No, only notable one I can think of was John terry early in the season.
Needs to be don't tho, been slow for ages never near his man.

He was one of my favourite players at the start of the season, but he hasn't had a really good game for quite some time I don't think.

Lorentzson is quite attacking, so he gives us that option of getting to the byline and getting balls into the box.

What John terry offers on the pitch we can only dream of. JT fits the title "captain leader legend". Had him in my dream team many years, tho not this year.
I'm a fan of many of ours including Ricketts I was happy when he signed, and early on in the season he lived up to his billing of being a experienced top flight player. Over recent months he's dropped dramatically, I had hoped the arrival of Stephens and cargil who are both big prospects and comfortable on the ball would lift our sorry looking defence and our captain Ricketts would bounce back. Now he looks the big weak link at the back.
