OK folks a bad defeat and a fat majority are on here again knocking the club, the manager's comments you name it but every thread has negativity all over it!

Can't wait to see what you say should we get defeated at Barnsley.

Yes that was a strange game yesterday and Fleetwood took home all 3 points. Our players know that was unacceptable. They thought turning up was all they needed to do. the lay off did not help but we simply had no run of the ball, the players looked jaded and as play went on without a goal they grew in confidence especially when Murphy gave them the ball to go and score with.

It happens, that's football. But others in the top 6 also largely dropped the ball yesterday. We still have it all to play for. We won 6-0 the previous game and are more than capable of getting plenty of wins between now and the end of the season. We also have a very good manager who knows what to do more than most.

Since beating Gillingham to go 3 points clear at the top of the table we have

Played 14
Won 3
Drew 6 (4 of which we had the lead)
Lost 5
That's 15 points from our last 14 games

Yesterday wasng a blip. After that form, if our players really thought they just needed to turn up to win, they should hang their head in shame.

And no, I don't want Mowbray sacked, but we shouldn't just bury our heads in the sand either. We can still finish top 6 and we can still get promoted but the players and manager need to pull their fingers out. And the manager and the players shouldn't be above criticism, when it is deserved.

The point is sky blue kid the negative way we lambast our club constantly is appalling. We lost when least expected. Get over it and see the bigger picture. I agree Torch look at those stats they look a little concerning. But all teams have a period of bad runs. Did you run out and quote those stats after the 6-0 drubbing of Bury?
The fact remains we do have a very good side and manager. We clearly are set for the play offs and people are frustrated when we miss opportunities like yesterday.

But we can't just take a complete negative stance as though the whole season has suddenly become a disaster. We will get back on the horse in the coming games and and this exciting season will carry on. All this talk of next year f we don't do this and if these players leave and what if all the time is not the way to look at things. Some of you are so hard to please when things are not going your way. Christ they haven't gone our way in many years so why not keep embracing our season and looking upwards and onwards instead of quickly jumping on the easy option of lambasting the whole club in general?

Personally I'm looking forward to a top 6 finish and the play off excitement where I believe we will be favorites. No one will want to play us in the play offs. There is still a glimmer of autos if others also start wobbling. Put yesterday behind you where Fleetwood deserved their win but we were not beaten as much as we allowed ourselves to be beat. That is the difference this season and doesn't happen too often.

I'm sure during your career you played brilliantly every game.

No I didn't, but I never went 3 months without having some MoM games either Torchy. How can you defend what is ultimately relegation form over the last 3 months?!?!?:pointlaugh:

I have been incredibly positive, but then there comes a point where reality kicks in unfortunately, pax.

In what way are we capable of getting 'plenty' of wins? Based on 4 defeats out of the last 6? 3 wins out of 14?

Do you know the last time we had back to back wins? November!

So, despite losing 4 out of the last 6, winning only 3 of the last 14 and not having back to back wins since November, you think we can get plenty of wins? Plenty? Based on what?

We can have a good end to the season, but I would say only if TM now changes the system, which is clearly not working.

How do we know it's not working? The stats above prove it isn't.

Don't think it is negativity from the likes of Stupot and now myself. You just get to the point where you have to be realistic, look at the trend and accept that we are a pale shadow of what we were earlier in the season.

As TM said, that was pretty much his first choice 11. We're not even waiting for one of best players to suddenly come back from injury.

Fact is, we have to get something from the Barnsley game and they on current form are the best side in League One.

I am usually positive about out chances in games, but the odds are very heavily against us Tuesday night and it could well be that for the first time since way back at the start of the season that we are out of the top 6. That would be a massive, massive body blow. Impossible to stress the importance of Tuesday's game.

Could be once we are out of the top 6 we stay out. Bradford are now looking very strong and Barnsley too.

As Stupot says, we need to get our act together. It's fine to try and be positive, but let's not just stick our fingers in our ears, close our eyes and go 'la, la, la' pretending our slide isn't happening.

It's okay saying stop with the pessimism, but by the same token let's not have our heads in la la land!

If Mowbray's the manager he's supposed to be, he certainly won't be doing that.

So that stands for the majority of games where we expected to hammer teams then? Even those in the relegation zone? As for the 6-0 drubbing of Bury, have a look at my post saying Bury over the last 7 games have scored 7 goals and conceded 17. Every teams whipping boys wouldn't you say? puts our 6-0 win into perspective eh?

It's a fair point if they are shipping in an average of over 2 goals per game. No wonder they were so generous to us.

Totally the opposite Pax, teams will be rubbing their hands together in the hope they get us.

tbf take us out, and they'd conceded under 2 a game. It's our result that bumps it up!

They won their following 2 games, scoring 6 and conceding 2. Every teams whipping boys? Stupid post as usual.

Otis no doubt you thought about your answer but ended up with pessimism again set against recent stats as your support?

This isn't a get at you post. But when we beat Bury 6-0 did you throw those stats around then suggesting what on earth makes someone think we are going to do that to Bury based on recent form? No you did not. And that's precisely why I believe we will get plenty of wins between now and the season end. We are in the top 6 and have been there all season for a reason. We are not the only team who will have a poor period and not the only one who will have a great period. Those are the facts you need to concentrate on. The players we have and manager are clearly not about to capitulate the season. You surely believe that rather than the negative outlook and your fact finding mission?

That is including their last 2 games.. Stupid post?

I repeat - they convincingly won their 2 games following their drubbing here, so yes... it was a very stupid post.

we looked off the pace yesterday, no amount of training ground time can replace gametime and the lay off has worked against us again like last time. however we now have four games in 2 weeks tues, sat, tues, sat so we should be back on it quickly.

No I didn't, but then I thought we had turned the corner. Draw followed by a win, but then we put in that dismal effort yesterday and bubble burst once more.

When we beat Bury I was hoping we were back on track, but we clearly weren't.

There were a fair few that didn't get carried away with the 6-0 drubbing of Bury, and pointed to the 5-0 drubbing of Crewe, which will followed up by DLLLD. A fair few did ask whether Bury was a blip in a poor run or the start of something good, so I think it's unfair to suggest no one pointed that out.

Tbh I don't think we learned anything from the Bury game, amazing to win 6-0 but I can't remember a worst defensive performance from an away team in a long long time. We have played much better and drawn/lost games.

Totally agree stu. As silly as it sounds, in some ways that 6-0 was a bad thing, because I think it made us believe we are better than we actually are, fans included.

At least 3 goals against Bury were down to dreadful defending.

Hoping it wasn't just a one off out of the blue performance, but I kind of get the feeling now that, that is what it was.

Teams have learned how to counter us, so we now in turn need a new game plan.

I have to say that having scrolled through a few of these post Saturday threads everybody has got very jittery (perhaps understandably). We could well lose to Barnsley, but if we beat Rochdale(who have hit a decent patch) we will be thereabouts going into the final stretch. I know I may end up with egg on my face(as I've not seen enough of him yet to fully judge), but the physicality and driving force of Rose could make a real difference to us in terms of defending and pressing teams back. Any type of result at Barnsley will be a positive and we have a fairly good record there. All that said, if we lose at Barnsley and fail to beat Rochdale, I think we may have blown it. Damn it, it's got to me now!

It's time for Anderson to get the Lugar out of the draw ready and waiting

Id give him 2 games to show he can turn it round.

I love these people who keep saying "there are plenty of games left". How long will they keep saying it? I'm guessing until there are about 3 games left.
