Pretty clear , as it has been for some time, that something is wrong behind the scenes & its time to stop hiding behind this 'Blip' rubbish. I blame the media as much as anyone for keep plying that ...

Fair enough some go over the top with the moaning, but anyone who dared to air their view that things weren't looking right with the team these last couple of months were instantly berated by the CWR crew , and the old "its just a blip' phrase was thrown out... a blip is a few matches, a month at most... we have played 15 matches during the past 3 months & got 3 wins.. 3 WINS IN 3 MONTHS!!!!! coincidentally, that is exactly the same return pressley got in the 15 matches preceding him being sacked ( and its fair to say that for him it was under much harder circumstances with a far inferior squad of players )

Im not calling for another manager to be sacked... far from it, id love to keep mowbray long term & see him succeed. but i feel he does need to look at how he is setting up ... and its definitely time to sop pussy footing around this 'Blip' rubbish... you cant pull yourself out of trouble, if you dont even accept you are in it!

Based on current ( lengthy - not BLIP ) form, you could even say we haven't actually progressed, in league position sure.. we had a very good run at the start of the season, as we had two players with a lot of potential to play top tier football that were in scintillating form & scoring for fun! that's dried up a lot of late - and we had a leader at the back that was simply immense! - he got injured. that has helped us get to where we are. but last 15 matches NOW 3 wins 6 draws 6 losses.... pressley last 15 matches before he was sacked 3 wins 7 draws 5 losses ( bring back pressley ! haha )

I dont think its unreasonable to compare like for like 3 MONTH periods, that's 1/3rd of the season, and in exactly the same crucial period of the season too! And i just dont think any team in this league can go a bad run for that long and get away with it... unless something drastically changes over the next couple of matches ( and how long have we been saying that! ) , then i think its going to be hard to get anything out of this season now, especially considering our run of games in the last month.

anyway rant over, as the wife didnt want to hear it, i feel better now ( and that's all the matters this morning !!!! :)

I cant put my finger on what is happening. Things seemed to have gone wrong around the time that Joe Cole signed and Maddison returned and the team was tweaked to accommodate them. Now I am not saying that Mowbray is clueless or needs sacking. I am not saying that Madders and JC are shite and shouldn't play, but somethng is going horribly wrong at the moment.

Or the same time that reda got injured, my black cat also got run over about that time so i think that might have something to do with it as well!

Colchester won last night............................after 19 games without a win.......if we were in the same position, THEN we'd have something to whinge about.

Burton were the only team in the top 6 to win last night, but none of the other teams boards have a hotline to the Samaritans like ours seems to need.

the season aint over yet.

no they didnt, Colchester have won 3 in 16 matches.. compared to our 3 in 15.

We have a far superior squad & manager in my opinion.

And you dont progress by comparing yourself to a team that are rock bottom of the table and saying "ahh well we aren't quite as bad as them" what you DO get is a true reflection of how bad things actually are right now, as we are in pretty much the same run of form over these last 3 MONTHS , AS the team that sits bottom of the league....

We just don't look like the same team as early in the season. Have we been found out ? Are we predictable ?
Do teams now all know we've going to play the ball out, and close us down more quickly. Obvious most of our players can't take the pressure and we lose possession too easily.

We have the players for a Plan B but we don't seem to have any conviction.

With his knowledge & experience I'm surprised TM hasn't got this sorted out. Beginning to seriously wonder about a number of his signings.

The players don't seem to be able to switch to plan b even in the last few minutes last night rcc was rolling it out and the defenders were trying to pass it each other while Henderson was standing scratching his Arse up front

That's what annoys me, it is the same when we have Tudgay on. We don't adjust.

We are still playing it around the back in the 88th minute while 2-1 down. We should be filling their box and getting forward.

For me, everything seems okay in the world now. I couldn't handle this whole 'my team being good at football' thing I had going over the past six months, its completely screwed my brain up. I log on to skybluestalk this morning and the familiar whinging posts are back again.

Ahhh normality resumes.

The early season style was good on the eye but even when we were totally outplaying Barnsley, Southend, Crewe Chesterfield at home we were still just winning or drawing as we always looked vulnerable to concede. Team isn't physical enough and also lacks height. But I tend to think like a lot on here its the mix of loans and short term contracts that is the cause of our fall off in form.

Also TM has brought in a few very poor players such as Ramage and Hunt who offer nothing.

I went so overboard telling all my mates how good we were. Come the weekend we'll probably be closer to the relegation zone than top of the league in terms of points.

The loss of Reda, then Big Ben and then Martin is the problem

The problem I have with the Reda situation, is we clearly miss him, but if you look at his absence record it was only going to be a matter of time before he was injured. So knowing that why did we not have a ready made replacement in the squad (and no Willis is not what I mean). In any day to day job Reda would be sacked for an appalling absence record no matter how good he maybe, here lies the issue of our season missing a key figure to pull us through as the going got tough.

I spoke to two other City fans today and they both said that if we finish mid table it has to be seen as progression, and a platform to build on for next season.I walked away feeling depressed as I thought this was our season when we went up. Are they right then ?

I can see why people say it is progression, but I disagree that's it's a platform to build on. If you're building you're building on the better players in the squad and improving the squad. We will lose all of our best players in the summer and have to try to replace not building on them next season.

Nope. I think they are wrong.

So if we lost every game left of the season, but finished higher than we did last season that would be progress?

Unless we have a change in fortunes this is going to rank as one of the worst ever seasons in terms of plunges down any division.

I just can't see how being in the top 6 all season long, apart from just 3 or 4 days and then plunging down the division is progress.

The fact we have been in the top 6 all season moved the goalposts and changed the expectation. Even TM said himself that he has started to look towards the top 2 places.

Outside the top 6 come the end of the campaign will be a failure. Dependent on how far outside we are will determine just how much of a failure it has been.

One of my customers this morning said to me : " What's gone wrong with the City ?" He likes to talk football but hasn't been to a match for years.I couldn't really give him an answer as I'm as baffled as he is to be honest. But if we do drop down the table it is a massive fall from grace !

9 losses so far this season. Last season we lost 17.

We still have 13 games left. Might easily beat that figure yet.

blimey Otis your more cheery when you are moaning about your wife;)

so, does that make 9 losses all season?? how many years have we dreamt of a L column like that?

I get the argument that our overall record and our position at the end of the season are both likely to be better than last season. that is of course an improvement and would have been good enough for me before the season started.

However from where we were a couple of months ago its pretty much a disaster. To go from top of the league to on the verge of dropping out of the play offs is not good in anyones book. And the 'we're building for next year' argument doesn't really work when pretty much none of the players will still be here.

Blow it this season and we're back to square one.
