It was always going to be difficult not to be better than last season. If we don't get top 6, it's been a poor season

The last 3 months have been a disappointment and failure to get in a play off place would be a huge disappointment after the first 4 months of the season.
We have to admit from watching the poor negative football last season under SP some of the football we've seen and have been quality and seen many a Monday mornings at work enjoyable to brag about.
We've seen free flowing football, and some of the best goals in recent times. Had some great away days where the SBA have travelled well and seen some fantastic results.

I recall coming up for one game in particular last season v Scunthorpe . a night game , crowd of 6000 + one of the worst games I've ever see a city team play . truly shocking . this season is so much better by far .

'All I know is' this season has been one of missed opportunity. We started phenomenally well in terms of results and performances. We put the best teams in the division to the sword. Even when Reda was injured we brought in a player way above the level of this league. In November (3.5 months into the season) we looked as if we were a fair bet for champions a good bet for autos and certainties for play-offs at least.
Since then things have gone badly wrong and autos are way beyond us. Play offs possible only if our performances drastically improve.
Over the first part of the year a massive improvement. Over the last three months it has steadily deteriorated and now the results and lack of performance is on a par with the worse we saw last year. No spirit, no passion, no end product.
I have no idea why we have gone so drastically backwards over the past few months. It is more than TM and more than the core of players...we have missed the chance for the first time in 15 years to see the sky blues promoted

Um, not sure if something is going over my head, but if you were at your parents wedding you are a bastard as you were born out of wedlock.

Depends where we finish and how we finish I would say.

If we were to lose 8 or 9 games in a row or only won, say won 1 or 2 more games this rest season, then I would say not.

Finish top half and that is definitely progress on last season, though it will still be bitterly disappointing for not making the top 6.

Even if we don't go up, this season has to be viewed as a progress after the last few.

It will only be progress if our current form improves. Another couple of months like the last and I would say no improvement. A couple months where we return to the form of the first part of the season or even a few wins and a 'glorious' but unsuccessful bid for top 6 will be an improvement.

- We're still in League 1
- We're still not learning
- We're still going into free fall every Januray
- The board is as corrupt as ever
- The manager is becoming equally as frustrating as SP was

The only difference is that we were sitting in first place and have completely thrown our season away. To finish outside of the top six after how we were sitting halfway through the season is completely unacceptable and shows a sheer amount of unprofessionalism from both the players and the manager.

Finishing 7th is the same as 20th. It's mostly a different team from one season to the next so just because you miss out one year, doesn't mean you'll be up there the following year.

For me to finish outside the top 6 having be in the playoffs pretty for just over 2/3 of the season would be a failure!

In the same way if Leicester went on a massive slide now and finished outside the top 4 in the prem.

Both exceeded pre season expectations but have failed considering where they've been for the majority of the season.

We could quite easily finish 17th if this run continues. Mowbray needs a massive turn around for us to call this season 'progress'

So you don't know yet as there is still a third of the season left to play?
