As soon as we get Martin back, or bring another central defender in, Stokes has to go back to left back.

He's been solid as a rock there. Can't see how we can justify Haynes as the starting left back on the back of a couple of decent games.

I would probably go Stokes but there's not much in it. Both more than adequate for a top 6 league 1 team. Think Haynes would get in most league 1 starting 11's

Of course we can't, but he has proved to be excellent cover in an emergency situation, as has Stokes moving to CB, a steady revelation.
I think it was Haber who made a nuisance of himself at the Ricoh V Reda but he didn't get a look in today

I quite like the look of Haynes, but he is a little fragile and I think we need more physicality going forwards.

I still think he needs work and as soon as we can cover the position I would like to see him get game time on loan somewhere.

Yes and give him game time and he will get even better.

Sounded like that was on the agenda with Oxford prior to Martins Injury,so when the new CB is sourced, hopefully imminent I guess that will be out
Looking at the lad today he looks like he grown a couple of inches since last season.

Right to cut the crap starting back four probably if all were fit
...have ruled our reda as injured for season so bye bye!

Willis Ricketts Martin Stokes

Would anyone argue with this???? Great that Haynes and Phillips can cover though
and are getting game time though neither first choice! Glad we are giving the cover
a chance and are responding otherwise what's the point of them being in the squad!

Great Result PUSB!!

I don't like Willis at right back. Very strong and not a lot gets past him and love his physicality, but he offers nothing going forwards and his passing is awful.

If Lorentzson is as good as he's supposed to be, I am really hoping he is the answer.

The thought of a Roland Nilsson style, cultured right back, with good passing ability and calmness is a very warming thought.

Obviously need to see him in a City shirt first, but really hoping he proves to be the answer to that position for us.

Fair enough Otis and I am hoping likewise so if he gets fit yes he will replace Phillips for sure - though credit where its due cover options done well and future looks rosy!

To be honest, I'm not a fan of Haynes and don't feel confident when he plays... however, today he had a really game and will make me think twice about him!

Haynes and Phillips have done well in recent games. Stokes has had a very good season and has proved even more capable by providing emergency cover at centre half.

At the start of the season it wasn't just about who Mowbray could sign or loan, it was going to be about him developing what we have. Stokes RCC Phillips and Haynes are showing signs they are developing. I would also add Maddison to that who seems to be maturing quickly despite his four month injury lay off.

But don't all players up their game when the entire team is confident and winning? It's when the team is under the cosh, that you really find who the good players are.

I'd say you are confusing cause and effect - we won because the whole team played well.

Agreed. I think it's time for Willis to play CB.

RCC/Burge
Lorentzson/Phillips
Rickets/Willis
Martin/Ramage
Stokes/Haynes

Would be first/second choice in each position once they're all fit.

Fair play to the lad..perhaps they are not as harsh on him there like our 'fans' !!
We just don't like gingers in this neck of the woods.

I haven't given up on him just yet, but he does need to develop his game. Too many flaws at the moment unfortunately.

Maybe loan him out again next season and see if he progresses.

I think he deserves another chance - we'll see whether TM rates him this week as if he doesn't get recalled, and TM tries to get another bloody loannee, i think we all know what that means for TM's opinion of RH.

Good player will make it in the same league as CCFC for another club no doubt.

He's found his level. If we as a club have any aspirations there is no way we should have him back.

It's obvious Mowbray doesn't rate him and rightly so.

We're being relegated you mean?

Hopefully not
Lots of players come and go and some managers like fans just don't fancy them.
When to others it's pretty obvious they are good enough. It's just one of those things.
Hernandez at Utd for example they needed a striker he was clearly the man for the job. LGV didn't fancy him. He is proving what half the Utd fan base knew, in the right team with the right style would do a job. Half the Man Utd fans thought it was a mistake. Half agreed with LGV. One if those things. Haynes is not in the same class obviously but he would do alright in league one and one day he will be a decent championship player.

He has an awful lot of work to do to be even a League One player, Don.

He really needs to seriously work at his game if he wants to make a good career out of football.

Hell of a long way to go yet before the Championship beckons, trust me.

To be fair Dongle thought Hussey would be a good championship player.
