Just has a thought after Brodys comments, may well be putting 2 and 2 and getting 5.

Is SISUs great plan to starve the club in the hope the council give in in the hope of saving City? They are well known for playing hardball and may well think that if they let the club get in a worse and worse position the Council will eventually give in and sell the Ricoh to them in the name of keeping the club alive?

What do people think?

and the council should not give in even if it gets us relegated !!!! SISU fooked up there investment and want everybody else to pay for it !! :jerkit::jerkit:well thats unlucky SISU took a punt and lost so they have take it on the chin !! i am sure if they made millions they would not be giving any to the council or the higgs trust !!!! :thinking about::thinking about:

I can't see that.
You say sisu are starving the club ... I don't think that is intentional. They simply can't find new investors and so they can't buy the stadium at the moment. Remember sisu is not the investors/owners - they are managers of the funds who are the real owners. As long as the club is in bad standing on all fronts - losing money, league position, fans protests - no investors are keen to chip in more. So the club needs to sell rather than buy players to keep alive.

John Mutton was on CWR this morning. I wouldn't worry about the Council giving in. He was quite strong in his views that it would be best for the club and the city if Sisu were to leave and we were to enter administration.

There were also statements regarding the relationship between the board and the Ricoh management being at an all time low and rapidy deteriorating since Ranson left.

So, basically, we're left with them bitching in the rags and on the airwaves while we wait and suffer for West Ham.

The council must NEVER sell them the stadium, not even a fookin turnstyle. I will happily accept admin and relegation to get rid of these bunch of clowns. Oh and any sisu muppet reading this board (cos you do), dont even think of trying any "hearts and mind" bullshit . It wont work with any of us. Just go and go now. PUSB

Sorry I didnt say the council will give in, just that the recent noises may be an attempt to force their hand.

I'm sorry Godiva I disagree. They are starving them of the required investment as the quality of the squad is atrophying. Any business needs a certain amount of investment to stay competitive, much like a hotel renovating its rooms. This cost has to be budgeted in to the business plan.

In the hotel metaphor we don't need to add four posters and plasma TVs to every room but if we at least don't keep up with repairs and give it a lick of paint we actively go backwards.

SISU are just behaving like any venture capitalists when they buy a business that continues to fail rather than make the return they hoped for. They build up the asset base in the cheapest way and then try and sell the business as a going concern. I think the club must now be close to revenue positive on an on-going basis which they probably think is potentially attractive. If there was an option to buy the half-share they would do it only if they perceived the purchase value is much lower than the sale value. Venture capitalists are just bad news all round and we are seeing what happens when a football club is owned by one - truly catastrophic. They will hang on until they get a sale price it will not bother them as I do not think losses are now occuring and even if there are they will sort that out in January.

But that plan only works if you actually sell the club before its so toxic that no one will touch it and you lose your entire investment.

I think at the end of the day this is going to come down to SISU getting a figure they think can't be beaten, which is probably after relegation. Also occurs to me that if there really is more than Hoffman interested then that benefits SISU as the sellers.

Because they want money to sell - will not bother them if we are in the Blue Square Premier as long as we are revenue neutral.

Yea; they had a plan but that went out the window long ago. Now they are just hoping that some idiot makes an offer which is for more that a quid.

Mused on this point in the Masterplan thread a couple of months back SHMMEEE,hardball is their game , they have former Blair advisor on board capable of turning Councillor john Muttons words back on himself in an embarressing way,ther is no money for team affairs but would definately find it for the stadium.one of two things are happening ,either they've already had the meeting with Higgs and Brody's out or its good cop bad cop before they talk.
