short term thinking expecting long term results (3 Viewers)

It's a recipe for failure

Manager on a two year contract.
Stadium on a two plus two year contract.
Too many loan players.
Too many players on short contracts already thinking about next season.

Is it any surprise our season is faltering? How many in the dressing room are expecting to be here next season? What motivation do they have to see us promoted?

We've made great strides this season on and off the pitch, the training ground, the back room staff, starting the season at home and even the accounts can give you hope. So why the short term thinking on the pitch? Short term thinking can only bring short term results. I fear we're feeling the effects of this. That and something has definitely changed since CA arrived. Can't help but feel he's playing his part in the wheels coming off. It's a gut feeling admittedly but the timings are right.

Tony, it's the short term results that are a problem. I don't believe that any of those factors are really the reason. I think it's basically the case that a lot of the players were playing above themselves for a while, especially Fleck and Vincelot.

I come back to this. Too many players last night were hiding for my money, not committing, not finding space, not making space, not pushing themselves physically, just going through the motions seeing the game and season out.

Listening to Clive on CWR he kept talking about the noise from the club talking about getting players on longer contracts, being less dependent on the loan market etc. Basically thinking longer term.

To many players already looking to next season, the next contract and/or going back to their parent club. That's the basis of why our season has come spluttering to a halt Imo.

They signed two players on long term deals last week. If the players who are out of contract don't want to play for the club between now and the end of the season, they ARE NOT the players we want here. They are not the players to take us forward and rightly should not be offered new terms.

I think in Vincelots case it's simply a case of him not being good enough to carry the team on his own. Collectively they need to improve for some of our better players to come good again. Trouble is rightly or wrongly to many players are looking to next season already. If they're out of contract and they know they're not getting a new one here and your agent has something else lined up (which I'd imagine any agent would be in the process of already under these circumstances) why are they going to push themselves and risk injury? Playing football is a short career after all. The same for the loan players, the season is over for them. How many feel that they've already done enough to be playing in the championship next season on loan or maybe even pushing for a place in the parent team first team squad? Yes they get paid good money and yes they should be more professional than that but you have to consider human nature and human nature is very self centred at the best of times.

Good as long as the London supporters are happy, what is the obsession this club has with London supporters club

Err...as a CCLSC member, and one of those mentioned in the Cov Mad article who stayed behind after the CA Q&A to have a few drinks with him, please can you tell me what you mean by the above statement?

Is it 'cos they don't complain overmuch.

I think in Vincelots case it's simply a case of him not being good enough to carry the team on his own.
His deal was 'up to 2 years', has he been told he isn't getting 2nd year? Hope not, he was good at start of season, no reason why he can't get back to that form.

All we we seem to hear about is the London supporters club they have no more importance than any other group is he going to meet the international one? He is accountable to all fans not just the groups he wants to see, about time for a sky blue talk forum

Anderson was at a Sky Blue Trust open meeting in Feb wasn't he? I think the London Supporters Club get regular guests at their meetings as they are established and relatively organised.

For all their faults Fisher (and Waggott when he was here) and now Anderson seem quite happy to meet up and talk with people.
