Gael can step up for Fleck if he signs..... (3 Viewers)

For some reason, despite being 'one of our own' and a lovely kid by all accounts, many are far too quick to get on his back.

He played very little at Newcastle and his progress & confidence have stalled. Having said that, each game I see him he looks to be getting better and getting his confidence back. He would be a natural replacement for Fleck if we can sign him permanently in the summer.

I know Gael at the moment gets caught out a couple of times a game (on the ball or misplaces a pass), however, those saying how key Fleck is need to remember a couple of years back when Fleck was no different and frequently made errors.

A proper pre-season, a bit more aggression and deeper knowledge of TM's system and I think Bigirimana would prove a lot of these (self-destructive) City fans wrong. I hope he is given the opportunity to do so, remember he is a City fan to boot and genuinely cares for the club....

I agree, admittedly I have been quiet critical of him. Come back Gael, settle down with us, get a good pre season under you and I think he could be better than Fleck.

Gael ran the show against Peterborough in the first half and also against Bradford away

The aggression is what is missing. Don't think I've ever seen him make a tackle.

What's happening with Conor Thomas, I think his contract ends this summer and he got injured in November with likely 4 month layoff and only managed 5 games this season. Not back from injury yet.

We should let him go...

I don't think we should be signing Bigi. Unfortunately he isn't even L1 standard. He gives the ball away in dangerous places, he's one dimensional with his play, no aggression.

On Conor Thomss I have always been critical of him because of the big fuss when he was coming through, but I would be tempted to give him 12 months more as he could play the Fleck role

Thomas is injury prone and not very good anyway. He should be released and probably will be in the summer.

This club has for too long carried sick notes and players who don't every fulfil their potential.

A player who we should certainly let go. Not good enough.

Bigi isnt good enough and we shouldn't sign him in the summer (if Newcastle decide they will release him - he still has another year on his contract) and as AFC says that's why Vlad had been signed.

from what i have seen he has been nowhere near bad as some make out but hes also not been brilliant

6/10 season for me for bigi but shows signs he can still become the midfielder many touted him to be. i would not be unhappy if we sign him permanently.

If Newcastle are relegated it might give Bigi another chance there as they will lose a few, I haven't seen him play enough to know if we should sign him or not.

While I don't buy into the emotional argument, I do think there is a player within Bigirimana, the fans seem desperate for him to make a mistake. He needs a good run to build confidence, but also needs movement around him, he's always looking for a pass but often one doesn't exist.

Conor Thomas needs to leave this summer, he is to injury prone, i liked him the season he played CM alongside fleck a few years back and thought he would kick on from there but it has just not happened.

Bigi played well at Bradford away and Gillingham last weekend i thought, but to say he had a good game at Peterborough i am surprised? i thought it should of been him subbed at half time not rose, thought he was by far the weakest link in the team (or ricketts)

with that said i do still believe there is some sort of future for him at ccfc, he is a good ball player, it would be nice to see him get his confidence back and dominate games like fleck did beginning of this season.

Its a difficult one. I guess TM is waiting to see how Conor looks when he is available again.

If he makes a few starts before the end of the season I think they may keep him, because he is a useful utility player. If he comes back and isn't at the level he was before he may be let go.

Bigi is too timid on the ball and has a poor first touch far to often for me, always side way passes which in turn completely slows down any momentum. If their is such a thing I would like to see a hybrid of JOB and Vince, someone with a big engine that does the dirty work which will leave the creative players to concentrate on going forward.

Agree with Hod dog.

Bigi is improving but he's like a rabbit in the headlights when he is put under pressure in a defensive situation, and as a result often gets caught in possesion or gives "you have it I don't want it" passes. But I think that could be improved with more game time and confidence. I would certainly give him a chance.

I don't see Fleck as being much better than his current level. He gets caught in possession too often and misplaces passes and hides when he tires. He needs to be fitter but he's not a kid anymore so why should he improve? I would keep him though.

Connor Thomas cruises round the midfield looking confident in possession but I don't think he understands football enough to do anything constructive. He's not alone. There are a lot of young players with plenty of skill who need to learn the game, but surely he's had long enough. Squad player at best.

Bigi has ability and as a number of others have said, he needs a pre-season and a settled run in the team to develop further. Talent doesn't disappear because they've had a negative experience. TM is the right man to help him fulfil his potential.

yes he expires in the summer, I reckon he is as good as gone. Along with Finch, fingers crossed - he's up too in the summer.

He's nowhere near good enough, cheap, probably will be very cheap wage wise after a contract settlement at Newcastle and no one else will want him.

He'll be here next season.
