Fight at Game (2 Viewers)

During the second half, I saw a fight in the hospitality boxes, in the second box along from the South Stand, I've been told that it may have something do with a West Ham fan in Gary McSheffery's box. Can anyone fill in the details?

PS. You guys had some cracking support, I've been away at Everton and Man City and you where better than both of them, your team gave it a really good go, hope you stay up.

Thanks but we are definitely going down. We had a couple of your lot in our block too and they had a few beers but were harmless and even joined in some City songs. I have no problem with anyone filling up the thousands of empty seats although get embarrassed when some are so outraged that an away supporter should be among us. I think if you can't accept that, then you need to take along hard look in the mirror. Done it many times myself and sometimes get a better perspective.

No purely because we all know with our current owners we'd end up like Luton, Plymouth. 3 years from now we will be hanging onto the floor of the football league

We thought that when we came down to this league 10 years ago so no guarantees. Probably we would find our level in that league too. I think if you don't get back in two seasons from any league then you're struggling. I guess it depends on confidence, a good start and who the owners are and what their own ambitions reflect.

funnily enough outside the ground a group of West Ham fans were talking and one said he felt sorry for us as our support and spirit were brilliant.

Yea there was a hammers fan in block 33 with 2 kids, he wasn't causing any harm but he obviously didn't have much brains as he celebrated both of the West Ham goals, I don't mind it but I would see why it would anger some fans when he is openly celebrating the goal.
When he had been identified 2/3 cov youths came charging from about 20 rows below trying to kick off which was uncalled for. He wasn't causing any harm and didn't kick up a fuss when he was asked to leave.

Can't believe even a miserable sod like me is saying it so early in the season but the writing has been on the wall for so long already and I see no end to it even after today's performance. If we could have held on and got something unexpected out of it, then you might be saying "hold on, perhaps" but the fact we didn't is just another reason that we won't achieve. I honestly believe that if we got new owners tomorrow and an unlikely £10m war chest for January then it would still be a massive struggle to stay up.

I don't mind if they openly celebrate either tbh. It doesn't affect me. If they were getting agro and having a go that would be different but supporting different teams is normal. A mate of mine has a season ticket in the Holte at the Villa. The lad who sits next to him wasn't going to the Arsenal game last season and let him bring his 7 year old nephew (a Gooner). He was wearing his Arsenal hat and scarf and was really excited about going. Grown men were giving him abuse which says all you need to know about their character.

You lot have tremendous support and derserve to be back in the Premiership, just pull together and things will start turning out for the better.

Support isn't just about singing mate. Paying your money season after season. Going away as often as life allows is just as important. Personally I love the atmosphere at away games and sing from start to finish but at home I just can't get into it since we moved to the Ricoh. For those of us that still go these days, we all deserve a medal in my eyes. So for me, that is tremendous support.

All Our support is tremendous not just the two blocks which by the way I am in 17 ,everyone who turns up each week is a legend , our support has put up with so much shite I am amazed we still get above 10000. Just because some are not vocal doesn't mean they're not as committed , stadiums like the Ricoh will always kill the atmosphere

pusbccfc, with respect - the people in the middle sections of the Tesco are very loyal fans in the main. They've probably been to more City matches than you've had hot dinners. The number of faces I see that have been coming as long as I have are many, a bit older and greyer but fantasic supporters through thick and thin. They'll probably be here if or when we get relegated. Not like the many who post on here who actually boast about not going to home games, the part time fair weathers - who when the going gets tough, disappear. Like Macca says, some of us prefer to watch the game, not the away supporters. We're not interested in 'banter.' Probably cause we know it can and does end up in aggro now and then. I like the support of the corner lot, though I wouldn't want to sit with them, been there, done that. Don't take this the wrong way, well meant.

I was sat in Block 17, really enjoyed the noise coming from the corner, fair play to em. Put the 6k lot to shame IMO. Bubbles,AGAIN? Really!!

Cracking match, took my mate a west ham fan. Doesnt bother me one bit. He didnt jump up though, i would have just took the piss if he did. IF we played like that for the remainder, and the luck just turns in our favour we may get away with it. We did look good. KEOUGh is awesome by the way!!

Once upon a time, not too long ago, I was amongst the banter. I must admit I love singing and chanting for City. But I have since become a lot calmer in my approach and enjoy the match a lot more because of it. Maybe its my age, but unfortunately, all the support we get should be commended and not be the subject of annoyance. Ten years of what we've had makes you let out your passion on a different way. In the way of healthy debate and conversation in the pub afterwards.

Its really good to hear the support of another team say good things about us because we, as City fans are hard on ourselves a great deal of the time. Through thick and thin we will always have a hardcore fan base who will support the team how they wish. My only fear is that the times will only get thinner in the foreseeable future.

This is the first season in my 20 year history of being sky blue that I've predicted relegation... Including the last season we went down!

Playing as well as we are and losing is a sure fire bet, I hate to say.

Im certain i had 2 in front of me in block 29 but whilst they werent causing any problems, I wasnt concerned. The give away was not celebrating our goals. I think any genuine City fan would celebrate and treasure any goal we see this season

Regarding the incident in the box, i didnt personalpy see it, but I did hear there was a box of West Ham fans, and they were taking the piss a bit, and once again our stewards doing nothing to combat the problem. It seems away fans do get away with alot compared to our own home fans. Apparently when one steward was approached about their behaviour, he just just replied it was not his area so there was nothing he was goin to do.

Football fans are the reason segregation is in place. Rugby, amongst most other sports, manage with mixed crowds. What does that tell you about football fans??

There may be some truth in that, however Rugby isn't anywhere near as passionate - when tries and drop goals get scored half the crowd don't even stand up, just clap politely.

Kicked off downstairs just after half time aswell by Block 15, few West Ham lads were started on, stewards ended up chucking them out.

It's always going to be dodgy going in the wrong end. Any West Ham celebrating in blocks 15 ot 16 would have been in serious trouble given the atmosphere yesterday. I actually think that what happened in the minutes silence might have changed the whole dynamic of the match. Before the game we all expected to lose and we knew 6000 plus hammers were coming. I reckon without the incident they'd have kicked off the game singing really loud and both us and the team would have been giving them respect. The spoiling of the silence started noisy antagonism between us and them which made us sing for the team and I think the team responded. We were unlucky yesterday no two ways about it. After they went ahead I'd usually expect a cave in but we could have scored three or four times and deserved to. Their second goal was a total fluke.

To anyone who thought I was saying your more loyal if you sing/shout/dance whatever, well I didn't mean anything like that.
I assumed the west ham fan was commenting on the noise we create not the overall loyal faithful.
I know some are not the type to sing, or only sing when we are playing in big important games, and I have full respect for you, I also know that if you sit anywhere bar B15/16/17 then to generate noise in the RICOH is hard and also with the array of empty seats.

Sorry if I sounded like I was giving anyone stick for sitting in any other part of the stadium, or any other reason .

West Ham fan came in the Devon last night and said it kicked off at half time in the bar between them and the Old Bill. Few of them got battoned and then the Old Bill kicked loads of them out only for the lads booted out to walk round to the next gate that was open and walk straight back in.

I think its more to do with numbers. If we say there are 20m football fans and 5m Rugby fans then there are likely to be evn on average four times as many idiots. Idiots will find other idiots to fight with just like they do in every town on a Saturday night. Once the bandwaggon was rolling others attended purely for the fighting and it became associated with it. Most football fans are decent people despite what most of the media like to pretend.
