I think that todays performance showed we have a very good emerging young team, we played well and dominated what is arguably a premiership team, we were unlucky and five shakey minutes as usualy undid us. If we could score a couple more goals, or had a better strike force then we would be top half of the division easily. We play well and work hard, and were unlucky with west hams first goal coming from what looked like a foul and should have been our free kick, and from where I was sat we had a couple of penalty shouts in the second half to.

I think we have enough quality to stay up, but if we do go down as long as our owners keep this team together we will do well and progress.

Now lets stop bitching, whingeing and blaming Sisu, and get behind the team, the atmosphere was great today, and now more then ever we need to join together and stand behind our team. I know alot of us don't like Sisu, but they look like they are here to stay, so lets support our club. we saw some great football today from our young sky blues, lets all get behind them give them all our support, and with a bit of luck and us the fans standing together with the club we will move forward both in the league and as a business!!!

That's an unlikely concept. The team played pretty much to the max, which is what they ought to do every game. And if they do that, there's a good shot of avoiding relegation.

Form doesn't need to remain static. The hope was in the performance, which showed the team can hold their own among the league's best. With the possible addition of Michael Brown and more performances like that, this team can put up a legit fight for survival.

I totally agree we have a good young team emerging but unfortunately with inexperience and a lack of goals we will ultimately be relegated.

I'd be perfectly comfortable with that if we were to retain the majority of our players (clingan etc aside) and go again next year with the young lads on 40 games more experience. If, and its a big if, this happens i feel like our relegation could be a blessing in disguise as i really feel our young squad will compete well next year and hopefully build our club up with a positive year.

I for one refused to buy a season ticket this year as i knew with sisu how it would end up but if we retain most of our squad i'll definitely be back for league 1 next year - i hope many others who felt this season was a write off would do the same.

Our younger players are getting the experience they needed. I have been going to games for over 30 years and have seen us stay up from worse positions than this at this time of the season before. Been a City fan since the '60's so seen lots of relegation battles in my time. Although yesterday was one of our better performances we just don't score enough calls. We've won two games all season and we are rolling on towards Christmas. We have to win at least 5 games between now and the New Year, can any one really see us doing that. I hope I'm wrong, but I said at the start of the season if we survive this season it will be the clubs greatest achievement on all the years I've followed them

Whilst I mainly agree with your excellent post, I am not ready to let Sisu/Finance off the hook regarding the plight we find ourselves in, they, and they alone, are responsible, by virtue of the fact, that they will not go the extra mile in terms of investment in team strengthening,their "Not a penny more" stance is now looking likely to get us relegated, we are not talking A huge sum of money to put the thing back on track,
probably a £million would be enough to turn us into a consistantly performing side.
my nagging fear, is that Sisu will not hold its nerve, and our talented youngsters, will be in the January sales come the transfer window, their current attitude sugests no agenda in terms of saving the club from going down.
YEs! there are still plenty points to be played for, but the fact remains, we may well start the season in Div 1 next year, and a strategy for this unwelcome scenario must be adressed, discussed, and made public, but open'ness and transparacy, are not high on the priororties of our our owners "whoever they may be this week"

first time Macca looked useful, and that was down to the link p play with Conor and Gael, thoughs 3 as they have long term contracts should be the first 3 players on the sheet! If Clingan isnt going to sign then that is something we need to think about even if he was good yesterday!

Platt and Juke played well together as they did last season! That's 2 in 2 for Platt, looks like hes got some confidence which is good and i actually really like him when hes used correctly!

with Clarke and Wood coming back we have a chance to shut up shop at the back, but Thorn needs to make sure he changes things at the right time, i.e. Christie was there target in the second half and maybe if he had seen that 5 mins earlier we could have done something about it!

Another player who i thought had a really good game was Hussey for a change he seemed confident in his own ability instead of being a rabbit in head lights!

If that is his best team he needs to work on it and tinker players as and when he needs to! Remember he still has Cody as well who probably would have been useful in the last 5, hes probably the only forward we have with pace and again!!!

Very disappointed with the result, but u think to your self if we had played like that against Burnley, Donny, Barsnley, Watford, we probably would have a few more points on the board!!!

Unfortunately at the moment each time one of them does make an error we are punished, just like yesterday when Cyrus had a momentary lapse of concentration and the game was gone. The biggest problem is normally a side would introduce kids one or two at a time we are using four or five as the core of the team and over a long hard season that is a recipe for disaster. Add to that that the experienced players like Bell, Sheff, Baker are simply not good enough and we have no natural goalscorer (jury still out on Cody) and its easy to see why we are at the bottom of the division 6 point adrift, 7 if you take into account goal difference. And anyone who thinks SISU are blameless for this is either blind, simple or deluded. The fans are still behind the team and manager home and away because mostly they are giving us 100% but its simply not enough.

Yea hope this defeat hasn't knocked them too much, if we can consistently perform like that then we will turn this season around.
We just need a bit more experience and tactical knowledge out on this pitch so we don't throw away leads, it needed someone with a bit of composure yesterday to try and slow the game down and keep a good spell of possession when West Ham were coming out us hard in the second half.

I'm not being negative, just realistic. Sure, we have some good young players, but its increasingly looking likely that they won't be enough to save us from relegation, and, why should they? The senior players should be leading the fight and some of them aren't doing their bit on a regular basis.

Spot on Tankie. This situation is totally of SISU's making. The majority of our fans are complete mugs who are so used to being sh*t on that they just accept it.

Blackburn's protests have been far greater than ours and the only issue they have is the manager!

We have some cracking youngsters with bright futures and if SISU allow Thorn to bring in a couple of loans we've got a good chance of survival - but they won't because they don't care about this football club.

Perfectly summed up, Ash. Exactly how I see it, especially the part about youngsters: it's not that they're not great talents, it's that we're using too many of them too often at the same time as there's no one else-rather than being able to drop them in and take them out, as Thorn tried to early season-and not helping them out with (good) experienced pro's alongside them. If anything, too many games could mean burnout and be detrimental to their long-term careers.

Hard to blame anyone but SISU for a situation where we are relying on the youth team!
