I'd rather stick with SISU then be taken over by Wasps to be honest.
Agreed. And I wouldn't say they're loaded...they owe investors £35m in 7 years don't they?

Wasps won't take us over, they have no money which is why they "had to move", and then did the bonds to pay their owner back and the council loan.Sisu's time must surely be up now. There is nowhere and nothing else for Sisu to do / offer
Does anyone else get a feeling that we might get taken over by Wasps, Are they not loaded?
They own the Ricoh, would get money from the football and rugby side, potential to make fortunes if invested correctly and got us to the premier league with TV rights etc...
Not sure why people think they will go. I think this decision will mean they remain around for a long time yet.

However then I am torn thinking but should they be rewarded for nothing, but causing a load of grief?
onto the wasps deal...

it baffles me, i can't see what they are going to gain apart from paying lawyers (both theirs and the councils)

Why does this view persist that CCFC will be taken over b Wasps??? It'll never happen. There isn't an iota of evidence to suggest that they want to, or any reason at all for them to do so.
The second the verdict popped up, there was a lot of startled people in my open plan office as a I leapt out of my chair whilst cheering and fist pumping, trying to high-five bemused co-workers and then walking around the office, arms aloft then playing a bit of air guitar.
Happy days!!!!!!!!!!

WTF is there to be happy about, you daft prick? While there may not have been a legal basis to find in SISU's favour, there is no doubt that the Council have been working to fuck the football club over for years
Bugger, we're not going to get promoted now!
Fair reply Duffer but don't ever, ever, call me SBK again! It's SBW or SBWM to you ;-)
I think in the past people can't sustain the costs and eventually back down or eventually you will find a judge who sees it your way.
Also will JR2 force Wasps into the action. If so this one really worries me as they are the ones we really need in side to have a genuine sustainable future in my opinion.
If Wasps are forced to defend themselves is there an aim to put financial pressure on them?

Sorry SBW! Unforgiveable mistake.

As much as I can see the merits in SISU's case, I do wish a line could be drawn under it now. Carry on trying to get the club into a self-sufficient position, negotiate (as much as it pains me to say it) the best possible deal with Wasps/ACL and cut your losses by making the club available for takeover. Enough is enough.
Thing is, they aren't being judged on that. It was only if the loan was legal or not.
It would be interesting if there could be a court case against bad treatment of CCFC by councils, owners, past owners etc.
Agree Nick ... it's a moral vs legal argument!
Incidentally I don't know what the burden of proof is in a Judicial Review ... is it "beyond reasonable doubt" (which is unusual for a civil matter), or "on the balance of probabilities". Were SISU trying to claim that CCC had acted "illegally" (i.e. contrary to criminal law)?
Agreed this is all about the legal aid. I would love to see a court case that looked at all the decisions by the council and the charity but in the context of full disclosure of all the emails, strategy plans and tactics by SISU.
It is pointless examine the council's behaviour unless you can look at the true context in which led to them taking such actions.
There is not a cat in hells chance a council sat down and thought right this year we need to improve services increase jobs. Collude, fuck over and force our own football club out of their home and attempt to destroy it if possible.
Councils of today and the past would have always wanted the best for their home town foitball club. It creates a feel good factor in the city and increases the chances of your campaign as been seen as successful.
Taking on your local football club can be damaging to your campaign
To get to this point is very extreme.
It would have taken a giant amount of provocation and forced them to the point where they have had to do something they really didn't want to do.
That provocation never ever gets digged inti and exposed because it was at the hands of a private company
Whilst the council gets hung out to dry.
Time to move on. Enough is enough. More focus from SISU on the club and not on court cases.
Here is another thought. The prospects of doing an improved long term deal at the Ricoh whilst SISU are suing Wasps are ........................ (a) excellent (b) good (c) maybe (d) small chance (e) no chance
Damn, Les was quick with that. To read the judgement, understand the judgement, get in contact with the owners, get a reply from the owners, and to write a good bit of prose. All under 24 minutes. I guess the other one is now running to the council to get their side of the story.
Not good to have a shitfest like this going on.
Also, was this expected? As the Observer had the pressing on against wasps article up within minutes!
