Every time I see that goal, I think the header was amazing but I just cannot describe how great that cross was from Bennett. You could not have placed a more perfect cross in a million attempts. Magical.

Great read that.

the wages were low in that team (pre premier league era)
With inflation - you can double the values . Houchen therefore at todays values only earned around 40k in Cup final year
Our stars with bonuses etc were earning around 80k (3k per week in todays money) - so it makes it even more depressing when the likes of bell/kyle etc have stolen a living off us in subsequent years
Oh to get a little bit of success here again, and to bring back the real excitement

this bit can't be true surely:

"At Stanmore Tube station, meanwhile, a carload of Coventry supporters discussed a hypothetical pub quandary, except in real life. Steven Marks, his dad, his dad’s mate and his dad’s mate’s dad had just pulled off the M1 and into London when the dad’s mate’s dad suffered a fatal seizure. Obviously, the sad reality could not be altered; naturally, they left him propped up in his seat; verily, it was what he would’ve wanted."

What a wonderful article. It brings back so many wonderful memories of that whole season.

Tears in my eyes, again.

I'm sick of hearing about Houchen's header. I've watched it many times and it wasn't that great. Bennett's goal was more difficult to score.

Been drinking at the Bar Humbug?

Anyway, cracking read. One of the better articles for painting a picture, CCFC fan or no.
