Is the Butts deal imminent? (1 Viewer)

The BPA is a great little ground, I'd love to see some money spent and it bumped up to about 8000 capacity. That's all the ground and area around are suited for though, Cov rugby supporters I imagine are very wary of all this laughable bullshit. CCFC will be staying at the Ricoh though, it's hardly worth the ongoing discussion. This is Fisher justifying his job again !

I totally agree Ashdown this will never happen

as an out of Towner who's never been to BPA is it really that bad? Coming from Rugby the Ricoh was easy access, how does BP compare

Well, got an up to date report from my missus if that helps.

She goes to Queen's Road (back of the Butts) for work 3 times a week, I asked her today what it is like and she said it is horrendous round there. She came out of Queens Road at just after 5 yesterday and she said the traffic was at a complete standstill. That is the bottom of Albany Road and then right on to the Butts Road all the way up to the ring road. Nose to tail gridlock.

As has been said many times, if this were to happen, major changes would be needed to be made to the road network and access in.

and to re-iterate what I've said many times, pedestrian access is poor.

The cost of developing this site would sky rocket. Why would CRFC want to be partly responsible for those cost to develop a stadium far beyond anything they need?

Surely a brand new development on one of the sites other posters have mentioned would make more sense? To progress with either SISU are going to need to build some bridges with the council. The whole thing is bullshit if you ask me but I still can't work out why CRFC would want to involve themselves in this nonsense.

Steve with greatest respect, it wouldn't matter what fans of CCFC do or want, these mentalists in charge will do whatever they think necessary to maintain their charade of 'giving a shit' whilst actually just looking at more and more litigation ! It's all they know ! They want profit and happy investors, we want a stable football club and some possibility of success.

I do have to agree Ashdown, but trying to be positive.

Well, that's it then. It's a no go. End of.

Really?

You wouldn't wait to see if road improvements could be made or new access routes be made in?

Dear me, Torch. Very negative and giving in far too easily.

Yep, you know me. Mr Negative. I just want to stay at the Ricoh and give money to Wasps.

Well that's very sad. Opposite of me then, because I am happy to go to the Butts if it could work.
Not me. My new phrase is "The status quo is the way to go". Stay where we are; let them hoover up all the income we generate. Let them change the seats to black and yellow. Let them make their badges even bigger and ours even smaller.

After all, it's their community asset now. A Premiership stadium with 32K seats. OK, so we won't fill 'em, but...hey...that's another story.

Oh pray, do tell. I love a good story!

The story about staying at the Ricoh? I don't want to tell you, it doesn't have a happy ending.

It could if we had genuinely ambitious owners who would be prepared to buy a fair share of the contracts that would guarantee us at least half of the spoils. But we haven't the twats wanted it for next to nothing and now just want revenge because it wasn't handed to them on a plate.

Yes we all know for a fact that a 15,000 stadium at BPA, probably paying more than £100K to Sisu and sharing incomes with a L1 rugby club is going to be a lot better.
You couldn't write this embarrassing crap let alone run along with it without applying a bit of common sense.
It's a diversion by SISU to give the appearance that they give a shit whilst they carry on with futile legal action.

Why would they do that? When have they ever cared what we thought?

Ironic as you seem to write embarrassing crap on a fairly regular basis.

Are they hoovering up our income or trying to force us out the door because they don't need our income and we are more trouble than good?
I am struggling to keep up let me know which one it is, so I can get behind Coventry City Footbal Club playing in a stadium with the same capacity as Glentoran FC.

Want it you blubbing like a baby the other day that others had had their likes re-instated and you hadn't?

Why keep mentioning wasps. No one wants to hand them money just so you know.

Most posting on that site won't have seen CCFC since Clarrie Bourton was banging them in

Meant to be replying to Samo

Don't think they want to keep giving wasps money, just keep playing at the Ricoh while
paying a reasonable rent.

No most are mentalists who never attend a game.

I just keep on stating the obvious.
You guys swallow their every word and attempt to justify it.
Meanwhile Sisu get away with keeping us firmly in D1 for reasons yet to become apparent.
Wish I could see the detail in the accounts it might give a clue.

So what will staying at the Ricoh do for us then? How will that help? You don't want to go to BPA so what is so attractive about where we are now and why would our future be much more rosy if we stayed?

Simple, it is the better of the 2 evils.
