My problem is Torchy, I go too far to research things for answers for lazy fucks like you. I've stated my position once, research!

Ah, that's your default get out clause. I'm not asking you to research, just simply answer if you think Mowbray is a liar.

Mowbray hasn't said anything as he, and therefore cannot be lying.
No I agree. I don't think he is lying. However SBK thinks he is.

Come on Mr Mowbray/Venus. if you're looking at Fan forums. Did you or didn't you have an interview at RUFC? simple question deserving of a simple answer :)

Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart has been very honest in his views, insisting that he intends to do things ‘by the book’ when it comes to appointing a new manager. He intends to approach Hibs to speak to former Everton and Celtic defender Stubbs, meaning it is unlikely they will pursue any serious interest in Mowbray any more.

I would think when a club are looking to hire a new manager, they would follow a certain
course of action.
A, Identify candidates that would potentially fit the bill for them, do some research and
draw up a short list.

B, Make contact, probably through an agent to find out availability, and whether it would
be worth while following up on interest.

C, Arange to meet for discussions (call it a meeting of minds) probably over dinner, talks
around ambitions, philosophy's, targets, methods, expectations etc. And importantly
compatibility.

D, Advanced talks with agents concerning contracts , monetary negotiations, etc.

E, make official approach to club and seek permission to speak to their manager.

I would think it's highly probable that TM and MV got as far along as , C , but
Then RUFC decided he wasn't the man for them OR he decided that RUFC
were not the club for him.
Surely everyone realises that when an official approach is made , the work has
been completed and it's just a matter of dotting the I,s and crossing the T,s.
I bet Alan Stubbs enjoyed a nice dinner with RUFC representatives last week,
I doubt his club knew.
When you think about it , Bawtryneil gave us a heads up on here , and in
doing so alerted others , if RUFC backed off from TM ,this could be the
Reason.

On one hand you've got someone on a forum claiming to have inside info. Now he may have been given that info and relayed it to us in good faith or he may have completely made it up, I have now idea.

But when on the other side you have CCFC saying no approach, Mowbray saying nothing and Rotherham saying they intend to do everything by the book the balance of probability is that Mowbray wasn't interviewed.

Whilst i acknowledge tapping up does happen, there's no way C&D would happen without the clubs consent.

RUFC chairman said he was going to do things by the book. Where does that leave your wild accusations that Mowbray is a liar?

well tbf, CCFC and RUFC could just as likely as Bawtry be making it up - for whatever reason. TM could clear the whole thing up with a public statement confirming one version. He can't though either way for fear of annoying one or the other if this is "discreet" - or was supposed to be. Then we would at least have a confirmation of one of the 2 possibilities. Seems strange that Bawtry would give his real identity away - you can find his home address, company details, past company details through Google - and wind everybody up, 'just for fun'. He may have even have pissed off his contacts as shirt sponsor as well. Could come back to bite him. I think something happened, based on the unlikely event of him willingly making a fool of himself on here for absolutely no reason. There are plenty of WUMs who come on here, but they don't normally give their identity away.

It's widely expected within the game, whenever an official approach is made , how and why
do you think the deal is completed so quickly, it's because all major discussions have
Already taken place.
Not just football, all headhunting in all types of scenarios are conducted this way.

Whilst all that is true. I find it hard to believe that a consummate professional like TM would risk his reputation and go behind the back of the club, the fans and CA, particularly when you consider his comments over the Chris Eagles affair.

Not only that, the chairman of RUFC has also stated he will do things "by the book", so for me that is pretty much solid proof that no interview took place. I presume Bawtry wasn't there when the alleged interview took place last Tuesday, so anyone could have stated that it happened and he took that in good faith, which is fair enough.

It's only really SBK who is trying to make something out of it and is determined to convince us that he has some insider knowledge. He asked me earlier if I believed TM over Bawtry and I said I did. I asked the flipside and he refuses to answer.

So why did hubs give Rotherham permission to talk to Stubbs on the 30th May, but yet 2 days later he has not yet signed and been unveiled as their manager? Surely if they met Mowbray a week ago, they'd have already met and negotiated the deal before seeking Hibs permission? 48 hours and no deal? Thought these things were always done this way which is why deals get completed so quickly.....

Unless the RUFC chairman is telling the truth about doing things properly before talking to someone else's manager......which would mean you got duff information and mowbray was never interviewed.

The thing is if Rotherham were trying to illegally tap up Mowbray and Venus, surely they would be trying to be discreet about it and thus would not tell a clubs shirt sponsor.

And would that sponsor then blab about it on a message board?

My lips are bleeding through biting them.... They didn't tell the clubs "Shirt Sponsor."

He has done it the right way, what would be the point of a club making numerous official
approaches to many clubs, when there's only one job on offer.
The work is done, discussions had and agreed, approach made, otherwise you'd have
several clubs and there fans upset , because there manager had talks with another
club.
When was the last time a club were approached about there manager, permission
Was granted, and he didn't get the job. ?...........
So therefore you would have to assume that they'd already met and get along.

Let me see now... Telling a football manager that he will be signing a new contract for the following season whilst at the same time having a meal and discussions about wages in a restaurant in Chelmsley Wood ...Awww what was his name again? er, ermm, Queen?..No, Prince..No, ah got it...KING

Rotherham have confirmed Stubbs
48 hours after asking permission? Funny that, according to SBK and Bawtyneal he'd have already been interviewed and had his contract negotiated before seeking permission.... That's why it so quick permission to unveiling...
