Is this bloke the new Tim Fisher since he has been here there's been nothing but shit. The football went downhill,is he getting involved to much in the day to day football side of things. He also seems very good at fucking up talks with wasps.Just my opinion.

Well respected prior to joining CCFC. Hasn't suddenly become an idiot.

Before he joined CCFC he dealt in statistics, he's now having to deal with reality. He could talk the talk, for me he isn't walking the walk. Got a feeling he won't be here that much longer and I suspect that will be his choice. That's based on nothing but a gut feeling by the way before anyone asks for a link.

I feel for the guy. Seems a pretty decent bloke, and quite switched-on - but he is in almost impossible position, sandwiched between SISU on one side who aren't willing to invest and who are insisting the club is self-sufficient, and on the other side you have those organisations who are trying to fuck the club over because of SISU. What can he do? The Ricoh talks seemed to have gone well - their failure is down to SISU not him. All he can do is plough on and play with the shit hand he has. If he can improve things on the commercial side that's about all he can do, I can't see what turning him into a scapegoat can achieve.

Totally unprofessional. You can't say the council is to blame when it's wasps, Higgs, council etc etc etc. At some point you look at the common denominator and see CCfc constantly failing time and time again in their business acumen under sisu and before to be fair

The constant denominator is also the council, for example trying to block the butts when it's nothing to do with the ricoh to protect their interests. Not selling to the sisu alternatives...

I agree, he is well out of his depth, if he has vision or drive he is keeping it well hidden.
However I don't think SISU will find a 'manager' with the necessary qualities, the club needs new ownership.

Genuinely interested in what people think he should have done differently. Wasps would have pulled out of talks whoever they were speaking to. Short of SISU dropping legal action - the outcome was never going to be any different. Perhaps, and without knowing the full details, he was slow to react regarding Higgs and had his pants pulled down a bit there.

For me, all those big issues are beyond the scope of CA to resolve - it is all about SISU. If he improves things off the pitch, increases turnover, moves to club to a profitable position, supports the manager as best he can, then he's pretty much done what he can in a total cluster-fuck of a situation. If I were him I would resign now - I would not want to be the patsy and the pin-up boy for supporters ire - I mean it's happening already and he is pretty powerless to do anything about it, so do yourself a favour and get yourself the hell out before you damage your reputation through no fault of your own.

I think you're right Mr The Ferret.

My worry is that the speculation about 3rd party litigation is true and we're now on a roller coaster of litigation that SISU can't stop even if they wanted to and that is going to hamper CA doing his job of acting in the best interest of CCFC. I think he'll walk in an attempt to hold onto as much of his reputation as he can. Let's face it, all things considered his chances of rebuilding it by staying are slim.

I can't understand that to be honest. I realise they are glad to have WASPs suckle up to them, helping promote things in the city rugby wise, but other than paying the rent, what do the council actually gain? They don't have a stake anymore in ACL, neither do Higgs.

I'd have thought it would be in the council's interest to let them develop the Butts - it helps keep/create jobs in the city, you've got income from business rates. More fans spending money in the town, rather than in another. Surely much better than than SISU's empty threats of moving the club to a different borough suddenly turning into reality.

Perhaps all of a sudden, permission is given...coinciding with a dropping of legal action.

It's OK, Tony Sugar thinks he isn't 'walking the walk'.

I can't keep up with this I am playing 4 days worth of catch up!!!
I am getting the impression we are getting done by the boy who cried wolf syndrome again. Like when Wasps came to town.
So we said we were moving our academy.
Then recently we say we want to stay long term.
Wasps agree a deal to buy the facility
They offer us something unacceptable as a token gesture.
They play hardball re the legal action over a long term deal for the Ricoh.
We reply saying we have two sites for stadium and academy can be used there as well.
What a crock of shit why can't we ever have normal smooth straight forward negotiations!!(all sides)

we have had a procession of supposedly talented chief execs, chairmen, directors etc. since SISU came.
None seem to have been able to make much of a difference.
So either the situation is just too impossible or the internal framework within which they are working is just too constraining.
PS Brody was my favourite - what a nutcase he was.

Or maybe he's being told what to say by SISU?:muted::walkingdead:
Yes, that is also an option. But just because we hate sisu doesn't mean we should believe everything wasps, higgs, CSF and the council say and take it as gospel.

Didn't Brody have a stake in the club? Does he still or did that go with admin?

I've said before this man says one thing and means another. He's a SISU mouthpiece and and falls into the same category as Fisher, Sappalla and Delieu.
Such a pity they don't all just p*** off

He hasn't done anything wrong but I think you are right about him walking away. Think he's starting to realise he's chasing a lost cause.

I quite like CA, seems to be taking a much better approach towards things, previous chief executives, have spouted a load of shit and never pulled through. He spent the first few month analysing the situation, then against the previous regime, said that the Ricoh is the best option, and has tried to negotiate. Now that it hasn't worked, he is exploring other options. Furthermore he seems to get on with TM, while there has been no evidence to suggest he has got involved in the teams running.
He has attempted to sort out the ticketing system, and things seem to be running smoother for people.

He said he was going to look at a long term deal for the Ricoh.
He had his 17 point plan and Wasps say they agreed to a lot of it.
Wasps then say the final deal couldn't be struck due to the legal action.
CA is nothing to do with the legal action.
If he had got us signed up to 20 years at the Ricoh in a way that helps the club fair play to him.
It's Wasps who pulled the plug in the deal.
The legal action is riddiculous we won't win again.
It's caused a load of grief before when dealing with the council for nothing it is flogging a dead horse every man and their dog can see that.
Or perhaps one man and his very big dog can't unfortunately. However pointless legal action is hurting us again.
So at this stage I don't blame CA.
He was doing his bit. Sounds like we need to drop the legal action on a guarantee CA's 17 points are signed and the academy gets a more suitable co use of the venue.
If we carry on with the new stadium bluff (just my opinion) I think we maybe screwed especially if Wasps genuinely are not fussed either way.

On the radio this morning he said that he couldn't understand how Wasps could apply for planning permission when they don't have a lease on the Higgs Centre. It suggests to me that he is either naive or stupid.

Does he really expect Wasps to enter into a binding lease agreement without firstly knowing whether their plans will be approved?

They didn't say it was anything to do with legal action.

Once you started lying I lost interest.

Mr Armstrong also said he and Coventry City managing director Chris Anderson had reached early agreements in several areas - including food and drink income - before the rugby club decided to freeze the talks citing ongoing legal action.

Rugby club chief executive David Armstrong said the 'background noise' of ongoing legal action made it difficult to agree long-term deal

Tend to agree with this. When he came in he said he would look at all options. From what we know it looks like he's done that, decided what the club needs and set about trying to get it.
You can't really blame him if ACL won't talk to him about a long term deal at the Ricoh and CSF suddenly pull out of talks about a long term deal for the academy and do a deal with Wasps.
