OK got it. I was considering either the theatre or the cinema this evening. Which of these is acceptable? Or neither? If I did go could provide a list please of the shows I should avoid?
Any rules on which newspaper I should read?

Are CCFC being kicked out of the cinema as well? And the theatre too? Well yes, boycott them too.

Seriously though, quite an irrelevant post Trench, no?

I wonder how many Wasp-hating CCFC fans went to see Springsteen yesterday? All that revenue going to 'egg-chasers' with their 'shit concept of sport'....
Personally I would have a lot of thinking to do before attending anything other than our matches at the Ricoh.
Although the reality is if you go to a gig there and don't buy any beer you're not giving any revenue to ACL. The hire fee will be fixed and the only thing they will receive on top of that is the F&B and parking revenues.

I was attempting to gently point out that it's not for you to decide what everyone else does. :)

I know exactly what you were attempting.

If people support CCFC, and go to Wasps games/support Wasps financially, that's up to them. Personally, I don't see how they can do it, if they want a better CCFC.

Surely Wasps going bust would put CCFC in a better position to buy/negotiate the Ricoh? Whereas at the minute, Wasps are the guys with hotels on Mayfair and Park Lane and all the cash, and we have no income and not even Old Kent Road.

A thought just occurred to me about how this anti-Wasps obsession & many of the ideas to somehow (& unrealistically) force them out of Coventry & the Ricoh has parallels with the ridiculous scaremongering & extremism of current anti-immigration, & the "if theyre black - send 'em back" racism of old

don't talk such absolute shite you

Not been on this forum that long but that's by far the stupidest post I've read so far.

Surely CCFC and fans can't plan for Wasps to go bust, there are too many unknowns ?
If Wasps did go bust would Sisu change their minds on not wanting the stadium at the price Wasps paid ?
What would Sisu do next in regards of reducing the value of the Ricoh to a value they would pay ?
Seems like the whole vicious circle would start again. Not for me I'm afraid.
There needs to be compromise by Sisu and legal action needs to stop to move this forward.

Why would they stop though they haven't lost they are just losing, I guess when they stop the investors get grumpy and may never invest again where as at the moment joy can spin it as an ongoing battle this has years to run yet.

We can't plan for Wasps to go bust but we can hope as I like to to see rich and greedy people/companies lose their bond money and the team return to the London area where it belongs.

I am no Sisu fan but we are stuck with them.

I think more of this is needed, their PR will soon change it all round to be the club's fault.

There's no harm in Wasps being pressured is there? Maybe if they hadn't been given the pass and support from CCFC fans and everybody else they might never have been able to do half the shit to the club.

That's true but where does that get us? I'd much rather see our fans unite and first sort out our immediate future by putting the wind up the franchise and then sort out our long term future and ensuring that we finally work towards decent owners.

I saw Simon Gilbert make exactly the same comment about another journalist yesterday on Twitter. He was obviously referring to Les Reid.

Yawn!
Precisely the kind of responses that go some way to prove my point. Thanks for your help.

If you say something quite so idiotic, what do you expect?

You do realise quite how insulting it is to minorities? You do realise how much you've trivialised the downright prejudice and bigotry associated with Othering ethnic groups? You do realise quite how ludicrous and offensive a statement you've made?

You do, for that matter, understand the distinctions between a sporting club's association with place... and racism?

You do realise that all this anti Wasps stuff is actually victimising those that may support CCFC & like rugby & relish the chance to watch top - class games in the City? (And NO I have not gone to watch them, except for a double-header game at Twickenham pre-Ricoh, for which I had free tickets from AVIVA - & in fact have no affiliation to Rugby beyond England & a passing interest in the British Lions).
So you do realise that constant anti-Wasps theme is to all intent & purpose tantamount to attacking outsiders...mistrusting them...offending them (if like YOU they choose to take offence)?

I could go on...but I will simply finish with the question...you DO understand the concept of parallels don't you?

I could go on

Please don't, for your own sake.

It's also about getting annoyed at the now blatant attempt to gain market share at the clubs expense.

You blest about history - well that's all we will have if apologists like you have your way.
You're a hypocrite Grendle. When I criticised Coventry fans for attending matches in Northants it was precisely because I could see the link between going there and what has subsequently unfolded.
A blanket boycott then may have forced Sisu's hand and a realisation that they were dealing with a united fan base.
And now you come up with a range of half baked strategies which, frankly, are more pathetic than those you were so contemptuous of several years ago.
Why don't you write your manifesto on a bed sheet?

I know I want a successful club and one that Coventrians will delight in once again but this will involve consistent principles and no deviation. Getting Coventry fans to agree on what those are would be the first and hardest step.

Don't pay attention to the attendance of Wasps, they give most of their seats away

Surely telling Coventry City fans to boycott Wasps would be different to telling Coventry City fans to boycott Coventry City?

What utter crap even if no ccfc fans went to see The Boss and I am sure many did, it would have sold out anyway.

So it's ok to attend anything, no matter how morally wrong you may feel it to be, because if you don't someone else will?

Any idea how many original WASPs fans have actually stopped going, out of protest. I can't imagine there were a huge number of their fans happy to travel to Cov...a bit like not many traveled to Sixfields (though, admittedly, the Ricoh is now their permanent home).

The benefit of not doing so for my sake is avoiding the tedium of the debate.

There is no 'debate', there is you making a ridiculous, offensive 'comparison' that has absolutely no basis in any reality other than your own, you being called out on it, and you somehow being unable to back down or realise quite why people see it as so moronic.

Why should people change their lives and boycott somewhere they go to watch their team play football.
Now I don't go to Wasps games because I don't support them.
Now you talk or morality look no further then our owners if you feel that bad about it don't give them a penny ether.

I'm not saying they should, just that your argument is weak.

Why SOME people...such as yourself you mean.
'Ridiculous' is a view, your opinion. You're applying the term because YOU have taken offence. But you can't beg to differ & move on...Wisdom by name only?!
