Wasps reject proposal to withdraw application (11 Viewers)

Its not a case of nobody gives a shit about CCFC, each organisation is a "stand alone" business and has its own criteria and obligation to their own organisations . It s proving nobody wants to buisness with Sisu , as simple as that .

The club is more than just SISU, more than just an organisation, it's embedded into the city. It's part of the culture. Why don't people understand we're talking about a club with 133 years of history and connection with the city?

The problem is if the Coventry public were more against Wasps they would have to withdraw the application so as not to upset the natives. They as people have pointed out blame SISU and it's all hunky dory.

Having looked at the planning application etc there is still room at the Higgs Centre for both Wasps and CCFC but if the academy is truly important to CCFC they may have to compromise and rearrange some of it by using pitches at Ryton or Warwick Uni
If there's room at Higgs for both why would we need to use Ryton or Warwick Uni?
Wasps and CSF need to put in writing what they can offer, this then needs sharing with the FA to see whether it satisfies them.
Agree with this. Lets get full details from Wasps and CSF of exactly what they can and will offer so that we know where we stand. Maybe, if Wasps and CSF want someone to chat to, they could meet with the Trust, the Trust could then publish the details of any meeting and what is being offered.

Or lots of other people putting in for planning permission, flood it with different things ;)

Sex clubs, dogging car parks....

Some good ideas but it will only be one thing and that is whatever wasps want it to be as this is the city of rugby

Exactly. Wasps PR must be the easiest job in the world. All you need to do is say but SISU and everyone is up in arms and no longer looking at the important issue.

the only thing that worries me with that is how the spin will just be put back round to sisu and the club again...

Or thinking about it why don't the Telegraph get on to Wasps and CSF and ask them for full details of what is being offered. Lets get all the cards out on the table.

Your input to be polite is worthless. We all know where you stand on any issues. Right in Eastwoods back pocket because despite thinking SISU were great you have now decided there not and that wasps hedge fund is great as there helping you get richer. Go back to the rock you crawled out from!

Lets hope Sisu have more brains than you in respect of fighting.
They need to talk, they will have to compromise. But at the end of the day we should still have an academy and a stadium to play in.
Don't you realise they have got us by the balls and and they need to be more proactive.
If I was CA I would be knocking on Wasps door and asking how they can help us.
The offer is there, evidently.

Oh yes, stop being a victim and blaming fellow fans.

The trust need to fight this, this is my annoyance. They need to unite with the club. They need to honour the history and tradition the club gives to the city. Not the impartial line. Not the it's of SISU's making line. The line should be this is our club, we care and we will fight you every step of they way.

They have us by the balls because of the council and people like you. Not being a victim, I'm standing up for my football club. Not supporting the entity that is out to destroy it.

The offer hasn't actually been confirmed has it?

The offer is to talk if I read it correctly.
Wasps think they can carry on with their plans and still believe that CCFC can maintain the academy.
Perhaps Wasps need to fully understand the academy requirements and need CA to enlighten.
The real killer is the swimming pool which is not a Wasps plan.

That's in the past. It's gone.
We can all bring up whats happened and blame one or the other. It does nothing !!
Where do we go from here ?

If the offer is there putting it in writing so the club has all the details at hand won't be a problem.

FFS just meet the Wasps guy over a beer and discuss.
He has offered and CA has declined.
It's up to CA to take up the offer to talk. Why won't he ?

I believe we fight the Wasps invasion. One thing taking the stadium, another thing taking the lifeblood of the club. What connects the club and the community. The fanbase and the players. Of course you'll tell me I'm in a race to the bottom and it's all SISU's fault. How their actions are backfiring, blah blah blah. Fact is I care about my club, not SISU or Wasps or the council.

The first thing that needs to happen now is that we need someone to get full details of what Wasps and CSF will offer us. They can give it to the club or via the trust or telegraph but until they are prepared to make that known its hard to see how anything can move forward. There's little point having talks without knowing what is or isn't possible.

If it turns out both can co-exist then talks are worthwhile, if they can't then unless Wasps will hit pause the academy will have no choice but to vacate Higgs.

What is there to discuss? We need to know what is on offer, once we have then its the time to talk. Why on earth would Wasps and CSF refuse to let the club know what their offer actually is?

The swimming pool kills the academy dead not the Wasps plan.
Why can't it go outside and then we only need to build or find pitches.

I think the number of new users we get who only seem to focus on certain threads gives it away that the thought of a protest and / or looking bad bothers people doesn't it?

Yeah but let's not protest and be all softly softly about it so as not to upset anyone. The trusts motto.

I am pretty sure if Wasps put out a fantastic offer, it would be hard not to accept wouldn't it? Get the actual details out, somebody can then check with the FA to see if acceptable or not. We all know it's pointless throwing offers about if they won't be accepted...

I give up. It's stupid pedantics like this that will finish the club.

The Wasps plan impacts the academy. They want to build their base on our pitch. It's ok though, it's SISU's fault. Pathetic!

So rather than being outraged at the fact that Wasps are now looking to take over our academy as well as our ground, the Trust are now saying the only way forward is to do a deal with them?

I really try hard not to swear in writing, but forgive me when I say that this sounds utterly fucking spineless. Do you want to find out what other Trust members think about this, or would you rather continue the pretence of speaking for all of us?

The trust bottled it regarding the Wasps Ricoh deal the first time around because apparently (according to what Steve wrote here) they were nervous of upsetting our new landlords. Are you still scared of offending our 'partners' Wasps for some reason - if so, can you perhaps share what that reason is?

This wouldn't happen if it was in Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle or Glasgow. Fans would rightly be up in arms and the local council would hopefully be trying to protect the indigenous sporting team. But no, not in Coventry. Here we'll sit back and say "I know the Academy will be lost and the club is being pushed out by a team who've been here for 18 months, but it is the Clubs fault". Fucking pathetic.

Now's the time to stick up for the football team.

I can only think of one reason they don't want to put any offer in writing and that's the offer not allowing the level of facilities required to continue the academy.
