This is a great statement by the paper with some real realistic and tangible goals. Shame CET wont jump on this and come to our aid (probably putting a double page spread on how good Wasps are). Well done Observer, hopefully they can keep this momentum up and maybe go knocking the right doors to get answers where joe public cant.

Gilbert and the CT aren't going to start a campaign. They "back" the Save OUr Academy one.

I like what has been said but there always is an underlying 1 sided view with what he writes. The CET does the same though.

The thing is though, as long as the "aims" are the same throughout it should be ok.

Meanwhile, the CT do nothing. No campaign. No truck driving round the city. They say they back the "save the academy" campaign and that is apparently enough for them.

Well the CT don't want to burn their ties with Wasps.

So credit to the Observer who are putting this as saving the sky blues

10 for effort. 7 for thought and delivery. Point 2 makes no sense. And again is simply anti Wasps. I'm not advocating being pro-Wasps. Just keep the focus on Coventry.

If they had simply said: Keeping the Sky Blues in Coventry at a stadium that is financially viable and sustainable for the club.

It is simply focused on Coventry and open to myriad solutions. Being harping on about Wasps they're trying to play with language to pit CCFC against Wasps. It isn't as simple as that.

A good story is not a simple tale of good versus evil, this narrative would be far more palatable if it wasn't construed as a simple tale of the nobel underdog versus the giant!

And the whole City Of Rugby thing gives them carte blanche to do what the hell they want. Cheered on by some CCFC fans.

Just a thought, but would that be a bad thing? Wasps haven't been here long and they've already done loads for other Coventry based clubs (Blaze for example) and they're not trying push them out etc. Heck, they've helped them in a lot of matters at no charge.

Like Ice hockey, Rugby and Football hit different demographics and Wasps are currently showing up SISU in practically every way. Add the fact that SISU have argued with the council (huge mistake) and they've pretty much shot themselves at getting anything done here now. Councils are very much ran by adults that never left the school mentality behind. SISU have gone against them and now the council will do everything they can to annoy them. Sadly this means Cov City will be a victim of this.

If SISU were to get lost, all of this would probably be resolved in a flash.

So SISU get lost, what happens then? When SISU go, the issues caused by the council and others trying to get one over on them will remain for years.

They wouldn't. The issue here is purely driven at SISU and not the club. Hell, the council would love a competitive football club as it brings them more money from fans home and away via various means. If the club was to get bought by someone who even had an idea of how to run a club, these issues would quickly get resolved. As it is, SISU barked at the council and weather you agree with them or not, is irrelevant. Councils hold a grudge.

WOOOO go council.

Of course the issue would still be there, unless a magic stadium is going to appear? You know like the one built for CCFC, you know like the one the council wouldn't give over to people even BEFORE sisu?

Your an idiot. I was once told by someone in ACL - before sisu - the only thing holding the Ricoh back was "that bloody awful football club"

Thank you for that lovely well thought out comment. You're most certainly a prime example of a amazing intelligent individual that's found in all football fans up and down this country.

Surely, someone of your IQ should not grace us mere mortals on a forum like this.
